C36 prices in comparison to M3
So I wonder why the M3s are going ballistic on prices right now, but the C36s seem to only be declining just like any other massively produced car?

I imagine that one of the reasons is the race pedigree that is linked to the M3, while the C36 has officially none as far as I know. A great pity...
Also perhaps due to the manual transmission found in the M3 over the auto of the 36.

Maybe they're rare now because the vast majority of them never survived very long. They are powered by BMW engines, after all

Having owned an E36 M3 as well as a C43 and multiple other mercs. The BMW has under 100k miles was the biggest pile of **** i've ever owned and will never be buying another BMW again unless its under warranty in which case theres plenty of better cars for that kind of money

Right, that's what I why I mentioned it because of how many more were produced. I'm just PO'd because my c36 isn't worth as much I guess haha.

There aren't many "REAL" e30 M3's in this country, and they have a large following.
That being said, most of the ones you see priced insanely high, aren't selling. The car is still an old, worn out, german car.
E36 M3s, of similar vintage to the C36, can bring money if perfect and a desirable color combo, and manual. But there are plenty of ragged out, high mileage cars that are only a couple grand.

im going to agree on the lack of a manual transmission as the main lack of demand for the c36. also it's big brother c43 has a bit to do with the lack of demand too. the c43 is better suited for modification as so also takes away a little from the c36.
the c36 is the first though, so theres something to be said for that. i wouldnt mind having one, there is a nice red one for sale i posted in another thread recently. priced a bit too high for me personally but i think it might be a good price for someone who really really wanted it.
