Btw w202 is super fun to work on(interior)

Roof liner happens to be one of the hardest things to remove tho.

I had mine stripped down to metal when I swapped all my carpets, seats, and trim.

From what car are those side mirrors? They don't look like the original side mirrors for the C43, unless I am wrong. I have not seen those on C43s so far.

Yes and a nice upgrade with the folding option. You can get rid of the repeaters on the wings

Something to think about as a future project.

i took the seat back off to take off the headrest! and saw one of the hose end pieces that insert in the tri rubber pieces & broke the plastic piece that fits inside the tri rubber thing inside it!.. to think of it i dont recall the the inflators working at all when i purchased the car (not sure how to check that yet as it was least on my list) however once i finish putting the interior back together i will be asking how to diagnose and fix.. but i need to buy a front bumper from either mickey13(that ive been bull****ten on, my bad friend) or the fella that has the replica brabus.. want a different look other than oem sorta like the Lumma front bumper.. but after i finish the interior and tune up and put the suspension and bushings on ill be ready to tackle those choices

I'm glad u noticed that.. because me and my buddy was just speaking about how these mirrors had the signals in them like my 63(never noticed the other 43's didn't have them)

The side indicators in the mirror housing as per w210 were never an avaliable option on the C43. The folding mirrors were available. In fact you can buy the OE harness and switch gear, not forgetting the middle cover behind the gear lever on which are several switches depending on the options choosen.

You wanna play you gotta pay!

I found you the wireloom for folding w210 mirrors complete with console switch.
you can email seller telling him to re-work the auction to include shipping to US of A.

http://www.ebay.de/itm/Mercedes-Benz...cAAOSwhvFZCfY4

here is the burl wood plate with folding switch
ask seller to ship to US of A

centre console plate is probably not available in the US of A.
maybe you have to buy a used console from Germanija.

http://www.ebay.de/itm/Mercedes-Benz...sAAOSw32lYnyaq

folding mirror LEFT side
http://www.ebay.de/itm/Mercedes-W210...item23899bab0d

folding mirror RIGHT side.
http://www.ebay.de/itm/Mercedes-W210...item25dbb1b348

either you buy these parts from europe or order them from stealership using wireloom partsnumbers and mirror housing partsnumbers which will be very expensive buying brand new from stealership.

You also need the folding mechanism but I don't know if those are available separately to adapt to you current mirror assembly, if I understand you correctly.
Post a photo of the switch assembly, just behind the gear lever, so I can check which new cover you need to fix the folding mirror command switch

Daniel, can the covers be installed in the c43. Remove the original cover than put the w210 cover. Is this possible?

Absolutely no idea. I doubt it. Let me check in the EPC and I'll be back...

Have just checked in the EPC. The verdict is as follows: the non indicator mirror housing are the same on w202 and w210 sharing the #A210 811 01 60. The versions with the indicators inside have another #A210 810 01 64 and the shape is also different.

Those look in pretty good condition. Perhaps a new paint on the housing and it will be perfect. The price is also very reasonable, knowing the standard mirror (non-folding) assembly is over CHF300 at the dealer here and much more for the folding variety

Dennis, I've been investigating and checking the EPC for the folding mirror harness.

Personally I would use the appropriate W202 harness which has the following reference:
A208 540 65 08 or A208 540 42 06, depending on the model year.

With this harness, a control switch and a new lower central switch console, I would just run separate wires from the fender placed indicators to those in the side mirrors. Job done

Good input Daniel,

but i think, It will be more easier & less $$$, if can get folding harness with console switches from donor "W202/W208/W210", as well as a fender indicator signals,,

it's a matter of wiring connections only..

do old w202 mirrors share the same connectors as on the facelift w210 mirrors?
if yes, then there's no problems using either one of the wirelooms

As i know; there's a several differ folding connectors between them,

the connector contains (4/6/8-pins), that depend to the mirrors & model spec. & the options that came with folding system..!,

can't 100% figure out that, even with VIN #,,

easy & best solution to get everything from a donor Doll..

Do you know if these fit a '96 C36? What kind of pads do you have with your drilled rotors?

I believe C36 uses (316x28) Rotors,

you will have to change the calipers to fit those drilled Rotors..

well, I have folding mirrors on my car from factory so I'm good!!

Only thing missing on the c43 as a factory option which was never offered in 1999 was the auto dipping mirror on the right passenger side.
Put the stick in aaaa-RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR and the right side mirror dips, this is a great option on newer cars to protect rims and tires when parallel parking

I have to agree with you for the auto tilt mirror on the passenger side, but then it would have entailed some more electronics...

I pulled the trigger this evening for the harness and both mirrors and I'll look for the appropriate central console later...
Goods should be here in the next 10 days or so
That will be one of next winter's projects
