not that i recall.. if by backing plate you mean the dust shield( for the brakes) i didn't have to remove anything.. this pic is exactly how it done it.. the bushing ends up inside the tool when extracted( assuming that's what you were referring to)

Would you be willing to rent me your bushing extractor tool?

You'll likely have more results looking up 202589004300. The same number with 301 is just an updated revision to the original part number, but apparently most sites list it under the original.

Guys, I've got the bushing extractor tool coming from Amazon early next week (NOT Prime eligible!). Once I get the job finished, I'll report back.
Also, I will be renting this specialty tool out along with the proper Mercedes spring compressor for those that are so inclined to DIY.

Glad you were able to get your hands on one! I'm super late replying to this my apologies.. i'm on the forum mainly when at work so i didn't receive notification you replied (private messages would have alerted my phone) for future reference.. Good luck with the project!

Aligned!! Finally
My theory on this pic: Check engine light was off and came on when those 3 on the left came on. at first i assumed it came on because of the modded airbox and computer had to do its cycle to compensate for more air flow.. I DONT THINK that had anything to do with it.. my theory is the check engine light has something to do with abs my only two assumptions are: 1- brake light switch( above brake pedal) or 2- speed sensors. i only assume this because these lights we off all day yesterday

they were off all day yesterday while driving and this morn when i started the car the abs and bas lights came on.. and shortly after(approx 30 mins while on my way to inspection) the check engine light followed.. i have reason to believe these lights will disappear again when sooner than later because as i stated before they come and go.... the SRS will always be illuminated being i have a momo wheel in the car until i get a better condition oem replacement wheel i like

You should be able to get the CEL read at an auto parts store for free. It will be stored in the computer, even if the light goes off.

I don't know if this is pertinent but have you thought of a dodgy brake light switch? I had a similar problem with my old w202 c240 wagon "work-horse". Had those lights on all the time, changed the switch and problem solved. Have you also turned the wheel full lock in both directions a couple of times?

It has crossed my mind(brake light switch) in the pic showing the dash that was one of my theories, being you mentioned it as well it leads me to believe that i may be onto something so now i'm for sure going to try that.. May i ask what turning the wheel full locks does??????? also would those lights have something to do with check engine?( i will get the code read and let you know what it reads) that way i can get a better understanding on how to alleviate that.

Good going.
The wheel thing eliminates certain errors when the vehicle has been lifted off the ground, if I'm not mistaken. Mine does that sometimes I believe when on axle stands and battery disconnected
