C36 AMG year range - what's the real story

C36 AMG year range - what's the real story
Hey guys, I just put together this piece on the C36 AMG. My research points to conflicting year ranges of production. I've seen anywhere from starting in '93 - '95 and ending in '97 - '99. What's the real story here?

I can tell you with 100% certainty they did not make any after 1997. 1997 was the last year. At some point in 1996 they fixed the head gasket and wiring harness issue. In 1997 they got the electronic 5 speed transmission and EIS. The 1997 model would presumably be the most desirable then.

And the w202 premiered in 1994, being released in 1993. All cars released in 1993 had a production year of 1994, so the official span is 1994-1997.

are you registered? i use ad blocker and really dont notice any ads unless im not signed in. i know they updated the site recently but its a bit weird. the new format plays nice on my desktop but not my laptop. i actually like the format on my laptop better, but it wont let me post pictures. so its a little buggy i think

yes, was logged in (I think)...just opened it up and got ad bombed and banners all over the place. No worries though. Sulaco do you know when the wiring harness issue was addressed in 96 models? I've heard mid 1996, but no specific month? '94-97 to the best of my knowledge on C36 range. On the pop up topic I actually have never really noticed any problems on this forum on my laptop although I will say it's a bit quirky when I try to respond to a topic on cell phone.

I have Adblock which is 100% free https://adblockplus.org/en/firefox on all my computers and smartphones. No ads, but sometimes when visiting a site, you may get a reminder from the site owner that you are using an ad blocker and they block the info you are looking for. You can either give them an exception or not. Up to you to decide
