Locked out of C43

Hello all. So my c43 has been sitting for over a month due to a moderate misfire and I haven’t had the time to work on it. When I went to unlock it today the battery was completely dead. I can open the drivers door with the manual key but it wont turn in the key hole to open the trunk so I can jump start it. Does anyone know any other way to get the trunk open? If not I guess I will have to call a locksmith?

Yes under the hood on the drivers side theres a little black plastic box which you can connect the jumper cable to

That's the access to the 12v that goes directly to the blower motor. You can hook up a jump box or jumper cables directly there which will give you enough power to get in the car and use all features, but don't try to jump the car from there. Instead use it to get the trunk switch to work then jump the car normally.

Correct and def worth posting!! Don’t try to charge unless you see a + sign on top a plastic cover on the driver side. My 210 is capable of being jumped under the hood, but I am pretty the box does not exist on my C36. I believe this is the case w/ the earlier gen MBs. The rear lock is notorious for freezing because it never gets used.

I use this method, except that instead of using a battery I hook up my battery charger, pop the rear hood and disconnect the charger. Takes all in max 5 secs. Bingo!

Another way to do it is by using one of those chargers that goes through the cig lighter. Dead battery's in a C43 is common at my house, I know have a trickle charger on it, had to take the bulb out of the the trunk.

Can I ask why it's common? I have a year old battery that if I don't start the car within 3 days the battery goes dead. And this is happening in summer. I don't believe I have anything pulling juice.

Not sure, I've been chasing voltage gremlins in my car for over 10 years. Sometimes on start up I get a voltage drop, which kicks off the ABS and Stability Control. After 5 minutes I turn the car off, turn it back on and it's fine, usually. I replaced the ABS brain, put in a new battery, and it still does it. Just a quirk.
But the car also drains the battery quickly if left sitting.

My 43 can sit for several weeks with no major loss in the charge of the battery.
