Car is doing some qeird thing with traction controk

So went to drive the car around the block coz I havent driven it in a few weeks and right from the start its acting weird.

Car drives fine in reverse. If I go straight very slow....basically let it roll, the car will be fine. I mean I can give it very minimal throttle input but anything more than maybe five mph itll lock up the front wheels and the traction control light will flash.

Any ideas?

Nothing is jammin the wheels, everything looks normal.

Sounds like a speed sensor or ABS problem. Are your BAS/ESP lights illuminated on the dash?

Wondering if it could be a faulty emergency brake assistance

Nope. Everything looks normal.

I read that it might be the steering angle sensor.

i don’t think the brakes engage with a steering angle sensor. It should also activate the ESP light. The fact that it is activating the brakes makes me think it is a speed sensor.

This was the cause of the issue. Replaced the part with a spare one I had and the issue is gone.
Thanks

I think, this is called "turn rate YAW sensor",

it's a part of main (ESP & angle steering sensing system),,

it's in the trunk..
