Feelers on value
I’m being pressured to make space & sell a car. I have an absolutely prestige time capsule, 1999 C43. Engine bay looks new, interior looks new. Exterior and mechanicals are new. It’s a perfect example and I’m wondering what it’s worth? Thank you for any insightful comments. If I wasn’t needing to keep room for a ‘05 e55 wagon, a 92 500e and a g5, this would not be selling. Thx!!
A black on black C43 with 47k miles (yours?) didn't meet reserve on BaT in March, with a high bid of $17,800, so I think your price of $28k that you have posted elsewhere in this forum is probably unrealistic, IMHO.

(QUOTE=BVC500;7798331]Or at least mileage and some other pertinent information!

I wish they were going up for so much but they arent yet unfortunately
not quite true cause they're up there. Keep in mind as these cars age lesser and lesser will be around.

I know a s63 owner who parks his car just to look at my 43 cause to him its a “real benz”
a good sail price should be 10-15/17k, theres sold as is c63’s and 200mil e39 m5s that sell for 8k.

but this being sold also has a hps

Yeah, pretty much in line with everyone else here, what you think you can sell it for is pretty much highway robbery and only applicable to someone with more money than brains. I think we all here know what these things are worth, and it's not even close to what you're asking. Maybe half that on a good day. In fact, just so you know, there was a guy on this forum not too long ago, who had an identical car as yours, a "time capsule" as you've called it, with even less miles than yours (only 40K miles), and he asked for $14K and still got no bites, but finally sold it after a few months for considerably less than that. So again, if you really got an offer for $26K, grab it and run!!
some car guys value their car so much it’s priceless to them doesn’t matter if you have money or brains
when you gotta have a car you jump out the window and take a chance on it before it’s gone I missed a few c43s
by procratinating when i purchased my first c43 I looked for months couldn’t find one in fair condition, this was like 2 years ago
I must of looked at 6 beaters before I found a decent looking one in fair condition I wanted one so bad I
over payed $6,500 for a 1998 c43 with 123k silver with OEM 17s and a few scratches but i was happy with it and still
have it and love driving It’s probably worth $6500 today with 18s serviced and lots of TLC I’ve put into it
but I wouldn’t sell it even if they offered me 10k
There is still one on the Westcoast - 1999 C43 STILL LISTED ($10K usd) for over 6 months and NOTHING.
A 95 C36 (advertising as RARE) for the same pesos (and it's a bloody rebuilt too!)
GL finding out about all the hidden (treasure) issues on this C36 puppy. It too, has been relisted for several months.
But you never know what can happen, there's always an emotional buyer out there.

poster sounds like a pitch-man, so its not like you are talking to owner. most likely they have the car on consignment.
