Problem with ASR and ABS ligth turned on

I'm having big problem with my c36 amg -1996 with the ASR and ABS light turning on as soon i press the break pedal. I have switch the brake light switch to a brand new from the dealership but still same problem. i also notice that the smaller connector which i'm assume is for the abs and asr funtction due to that if i put a Cable between the pin the Asr and abs light doesn't light up when pressing the brake pedal but the brake light does not turn on like they are supposed to do so it is still a problem. That connector can be turn 2 ways even though it is steering pins on the connector and the brake light switch. Is there a fuse for the brake ligts? i have tried with Another fresh battery. i'm running out of ideas. Any thougts on the matter?

I read in the forum that it could be the speed control module

Are you having any drivability issues? Like non-responsive throttle, aka limp-home mode. I’ve known the ASR light (only) to usually be related to throttle body problems.

If not, maybe double check if the new brake light switch is connected correctly and secure in the bracket. I’ve heard these need to be “recalibrated” when replacing, whatever that means. But I never ran into any issues when I replaced my brake light switch. Just connected the plug and locked in the bracket with a quarter turn and was good to go.

The car runs ok but it doesn't accelerate as it use to do and the kickdown doesn't work as it should. the transmission works as it use to do though. no limp mode. the breaklight still doesn't work even with a new brake light switch. It's only when i press the brake pedal on startup the asr and abs lights turn and doesn't come off until i turning of the Engine. can't it still be the abs sensors?
is there a fuse for the break light or is it the same as the tail light?

I have runned hfm scan on the car and it come up with

ACTUAL
Purge Control valve: Open Circuit/short cir to ground

ACTUAL
Variable resonance intake manifol switchover valve :faulty

Post ACTUAL
Voltage supp terminal 87U at HFM Control module: Implausible

The hfm scan is not for testing the abs or the asr for fault codes
Can thoose fault codes impaire the abs or the asr?

I recommend checking the brake light switch installed. It could be faulty or not properly installed. You definitely want the OEM part and not an inferior alternative. I’d assume the dealer would install a genuine part.

Had similar problems as mentioned by the OP and changed the brake switch and that solved all the issues but don't know if this will solve the issues zibpka talks about
