C36 Updates
I've had the vehicle a couple weeks now.
1) Replaced the infamous buzzing interior temp sensor. Ah, blissful sensor silence. Not a difficult job but my advice for anyone else who does this is to remove the rearview mirror first - way easier.
2) Front rotors very slightly warped and pads well used so looking at front pads, rotors and callipers soon. Turns out our OE calipers are NLA, I even contacted ATE in Germany. So my calipers are off to John Stewart who is a specialist caliper rebuilder in Ontario, Canada. Should be like new!
3) Transmission service being done this week.
4) Driver's door actuator has a small air leak, I can hear it hiss at me for a few seconds when I unlock the doors. Waiting for the part to install soon.
5) 239K kms (149K miles) so I am thinking about replacing the original shocks front and rear even though none of them are leaking or visibly damaged. After looking at the usual aftermarket suspects (Bilstein B4/B8/Konis) I think I will pony up and pay Mercedes for the AMG spec OE units. About USD $700 for the front pair and $250 for the rear pair...
6) This vehicle has been very well cared for but still I have been lovingly detailing it, interior first. The grey leather was showing some of that "shininess" that comes with use/time as well as some color transfer from clothing and and overall greenish tint. I picked up Colorlock's Strong Leather Cleaner and soft brush for the deep clean and topped it off with their Leather Protector. Turned out great. Recommend this stuff if you want to get the leather back to a more matte look vs shiny/oily. Looks even more matte in real life than in the pic.
The fun continues...

Good work !!! always nice to see a c36 Wow I never knew they came with grey interior. That’s got to To be the first I’ve seen with that interior color on a c36. I’ve always seen black interiors on the c36 until now! I need to replace my rear shocks as well, gong to lower the car too when I do the shocks. What’s the color of the paint on yours ?
Do you have 2 C36's??
Come to think of it I've never seen a grey leather on a C36 either...maybe I have a super rare spec? Any one else out there have the grey?

Nope that’s my C36 and my old 97 C280 sport To the left that I sold to my friend not too long ago. I have a 99 C43 as well not in the best shape but I should get them side by side for some pics ! Grey interior definitely is rare for sure.

1) New front C36 AMG spec oe bilsteins arrived from Germany! Going in soon! Rears are NLA so I guess I will go the rebuild route with those.
2) Front calipers are back from rebuild by John Stewart. Pics when I install along with new front rotors and pads.
3) Trans service done
4) Coolant was looking old and going through the records it had been 9 years so did a flush and new MB fluid. Since then got a new coolant expansion tank I'll install soon.
5) Next week new motor and trans mounts by indy Benz mechanic and adjust one front wheel bearing.
6) Paint correction done, check out my thread on that.
7) Third brake light housing had a wierd blistered area above the bulb in the red plastic, like the bulb was too hot ?? Anyways, got a new one.
