My 1997 280C heating control unit has lost its light. How to replace the bulb(s) in this consule? Many thanks.

Don't recall exactly (getting old....) but I believe you need some needle feelers (like for the radio removal?) to insert and unclip the unit. Pull it out and the bulb is behind

Many thanks. I removed the unit-and there is no bulb opening or any cover to remove to get to the bulb! It must be enclosed within the unit-is that possible?

you will find the bulb under the climate control, (White plastic round pin),,

you can simply remove it by your hand, or with nose pliers, just twist it anticlockwise..

Many thanks. I wish mine had that option-but there is no such removal screw on the bottom of my unit. It looks like an original mercedes unit-but no white screw cover anywhere!

bMany thanks. Sorry-cannot take photo. But the unit is an original mercedes part. Strange that there is no opening anywhere to access any bulb

cm60k, that is the 98 and newer climate control unit (I have the same one). The 1997 model has the older unit. I don't know how to change that one.

Yeah,

94 till End of 96 comes with an old unit #: "202 830 07 85"
code: "851/F",,

if i'm not mistaken, have to remove (6) Phillip screws, then can pull out the bulb, but really not that sure about that..!!
