My 99' C43 is reaching 310'000km and still pulls like a freight train Have not driven her this spring season apart for a quick blast to blow the winter cobwebs out
I waited until 200K on the original 43 to do the 55 swap. The 43 ran great - but was leaking oil from any seal it could. I ended up selling the heads - so decided to strip the block down the rest of the way. There was virtually no wear on any of the bearings, surfaces, bores, rings, etc. Chain stretch was still in spec - but getting close to needing a replacement. Properly maintained these engines will go a long long long time. My 200K probably wasn't 1/2 way used up assuming the timing chain job would have been done soon.
My 99 c43 has 141k on it.Looks and runs like 41k.....These M112 engines are bullet proof if maintained properly. The slant 6 c36 motor is as well a gem!..Going to get my hands on a c36 ive been looking.
im up to 204,000 miles and im about to rebuild the steering box, transmission and differential this summer. Im gonna try and build the heads too for better airflow but i doubt ill get around to it. Lol my poor 43 has been beat hard but im not giving up on it.
Had an E55 motor swapped in at 297k miles, but not because the original 4.3 motor was dead. It just needed a timing chain and it was only about $1k more to just swap in a 1999 E55 motor with only 130k miles on it.

Nice glad to see c43 owners putting in the work keeping there AMGs running , you still got those nice rims on it
I’m trying some 19s from a c63 hoping it will still ride smooth specially with these NY roads
I have a 99 C43 with 310k+ miles. I'll post a picture of the instrument cluster. I also have a 2002 ML55 (same engine block) with 443k miles and both run a strong as they ever did.

a man after my own heart!
I'm about to hit 320k in my C43 but I would love an ML55 for doing some off road stuff.
