C43 issues - Clunk on hard acceleration
I bought my C43 9 months ago with an issue, that I thought was related to the flex discs/driveshaft support. When I accelerate from standstill, I can hear a clunk when it shifts in second, doesn't do it under any other circumstances or if I go hard from second. Flex discs, driveshaft support/bearing, transmission mount are brand new. No issues with the transmission, I even went ahead and did a maintenance on it (fluid, filter, plug and pan).I'm thinking it might be my engine mounts, it already shows signs of use since there's a pretty big vibration when idling in ''Drive''. Any thoughts?
I also have a weird issue where I can hear a noise when driving on the front passenger side. It's repetitive (and depends on my speed), not a steady sound like a humming bearing. The weirdest thing is that, prior to lifting it up to do a few repairs, it wasn't doing it. I have my doubts that it could still be the bearing since nothing seems to rub. Maybe having the car up for 2 weeks stressed the bearing that was already on its way out?
Every single part that I removed so far on this 261k km (161k miles) C43 were original (minus the transmission filter).. stamped 1998.

Found it. Check post #51 and after: https://mbworld.org/forums/c36-amg-c...t-worse-3.html

- Have you tried removing the air-filter and placing a spirit level on the intake? It should be level.
- Have you tried doing the throttle test? Give throttle movements and see what the engine does. If it rises in an exagerated manner, that confirms the mounts being toast. BTW, it may be a good idea to invest in a special angled spanner to remove then replace the top bolt on the engine mounts. I recommend you get some heavy duty mounts like those found on M113k engined MBs
