Certainly doesn't look like a sub-20k mile car to me....Unless they left it outside a garage during it's whole life. The engine bay alone is a give-away. And that interior carpet???
When I first read "Offered from the Dave Leimbach Collection," I read it as Dean Laumbach, and when I saw the presentation, I thought surely it couldn't have been from Dean. Then I re-read it. Yeah, you would think it would have been prepared better for sale.
Yeah I agree needs a nice detail and some TLC ,lots of low mileage c43s keep popping up like someone has them stored in a barn and releasing them a little at a time

A car can get that dirty in a matter of months. Overall condition seems very good except for the sagging headliner.
Having owned these for so long, its easy to tell the low mileage ones from the high ones just by looking at common areas.
Perfectly even body panel gaps, unworn steering wheel and wood panels. Intact seat bolsters(usually crushed on driver side). This looks like a low mileage car that sat and wasnt cared for.
Probably late 99 model as it has 2000 model wheels.

Valve covers have corrosion, so guess it has seen salty road conditions. I just can't understand why seller didn't at least blow the dust off the engine with some compressed air. The manifolds look new, so it could indeed be a low mileage example. Don't understand how the headliner deteriorates like that. Mine is still perfect despite 21 years of life and over 310k kms in its legs
Maybe they wanted to show as found could of been sitting somewhere stored away for years , I’m sure sellers gonna shine it up before auction time
The headliners tends to give out depending how they stored also think it has to do with if you cover your car before letting to engine cool down

It's all about how and where it is stored. Hotter climates usually cause the headliner to sag prematurely. I've got 167,000 miles on my C43, which has always been stored in Oregon, and has a perfect headliner. Conversely, when I lived in Mississippi the headliner on my 2008 E63, that had 46,000 miles at the time, started sagging after baking in the sun.
