Change inner and outer complete bearings. Check the stub axle is not damaged.

BTW you posted in the wrong sub-forum page, even if the w20w C36 and 43s are from the same family

Try posting in the C class W202 sedan page

So it s fine ? There are no bearings in there I took them out . The chipping is on the hub s placements or what s they re called.
I asked before n they tought it was the races .

Oh sorry, didn't look close enough to the pics. Could be chip damage when installing or removing the bearings. Someone may have been using a very heavy hand, or total ignorance. If the chipping is not inside, guess you could try installing new bearings. The outer bearing is in contact with the surface. You could try removing chips with a file and sanding down gently. May or may not work, if not you'll need a new hub or second hand one.
Try cleaning all the grease from inside to ensure no metal has fallen inside the hub.
P.S. Easy to remove or install bearings with a hydraulic press if you can have access to one

@Iustinig What does the photo show us? Is this the axle shaft? Or is it a wheel bearing? Replace the wheel bearing, it doesn't last forever. Same comment for the axle shaft - replace it. The vehicle is 25 years old, it needs lots of maintenance.

hey . thank you . It was me but not out of ignorance but lack of experience. I used a screwdriver. I tried my best but it still chipped . I cleaned them n will try to smooth the surfaces as best as I can . I want to make this car great . I'm very considerate when working on it, I just lack experience.

I tried for second one to tap it more gently but no progress . I tried changing the angle also and tap in many places equally . Still chipped

Buy new hubs and wheel bearings.

Buy new axle shafts.

Install all of the parts properly. People on this site can help you if you provide more and better photos of all angles of the parts, and the area in the vehicle you are working on.
