Those of you with any experience with them, if you had to pick one which would it be and why? Thinking of getting a "kick around" toy for a bit. Your responses are appreciated.

a used 2000 c43 probably will cost about 5000 less than a similar used 2002 c32. i serously doubt a new engine and all the labor is gonna be less. a sc kit for the c43 is gonna cost a lot too.. not saying u shouldn't, just something to think about. things also already work with the c32 without the tuning. that's powerwise..

suspension...altho the double wishbone setup is really nice, no one really makes anything for it... the c32 already has a number of coilover kits. plus, steering is rack and pinion rather than the old recirculating ball..

drove a C43 at the SoCal MBw meet last time. The engine sounds great! The car feels solid, not a lot of roll (the guy has H&R spring), and it looks good. Not as much powerful as the C32, but still quick. The throttle feels a little more direct somehow, but the car seriously lacks steering feed back and you can pratically drive the car w/ one hand and turn the steering wheel w/ one hand which makes me feel a little like driving my dad's Jag XJ12.

drive a C32 daily and absolutely love the way it handles and rides (not M3 like, but good enough for me) after I had put the RENNtech springs in. I love the supercharger noise, the engine noise seems weak compare to the V8, but the exhaust note is still sweet and deep. It's definitely more powerful and has more steering feedback, etc on the driving experience part. The luxury part however I personally feels that the C32 is more luxurious w/ the Nappa leather and the new interior style, but the stitch work and leather are more durable on the C43, and those bucket seats in the C43 gives more support w/ those adjustable lumbar support thing on the side. I also love the new shape of the W203 more, it's a little bigger in every dimension than the W202.

I prefer the C43.. probably because I prefer the sound of the V8 and the boxiness of the W202

BTW, on the nurburing, the C43 was FASTER than the C32... Even if usually the C32 is always faster.

For me it would be based on my total project budget.....
C32 will cost $32k plus
C43 will cost $25k max
C36 will cost $20k
I have seen C43's go at great prices in the past months
$22k C43 with 52k miles
