2000 C43 AMG in TITANITE RED - Rarest C43 in North America

Hello everyone, I have possibly the rarest C43 in North America. I have researched countless hours through the threads on this forum. Reportedly only 25 were imported into the US for the 2000 model year, all of them being either black, white, or silver. Only (1) in burgundy. The official color is "TITANITE RED - METALLIC (567U)" according to the VIN decoder. I have also seen this color listed as Bordeaux Red Metallic. I have not seen any 98/99 C43s in the US with this color but I have seen a handful from overseas listed, notably a few wagons.

The story: My grandfather originally ordered this car new in 1999 and it was delivered in the fall of 99 when I was only six months old. He unfortunately passed away from cancer in 2002 and the car was left for my grandmother as a daily driver. My grandma used it as a daily for about 7 years until she got a new car. I vividly remember her ripping it on the highway, the V8 roaring through me at a young age. In 2014 my grandmother gave it to my uncle since she did not drive it and wanted to keep it in the family as a memory of my grandfather. My uncle stored it for almost ten years, taking it out for general maintenance every so often but otherwise the car was left untouched. The car has accumulated just over 80,000 miles, majority of it being from when it was used as a daily. That leads us to today, the car was recently given to my mother from her brother. I am now the one in charge of maintaining this beautifully rare AMG, in honor of my late grandfather. My grandfather chose this color as he was from Indiana and a big Indiana Hoosiers basketball fan.

Overall the car is in great health. The car runs and drives like new, with no visible rust. A few notable things on the top of the todo list: headliner replacement, new roof antenna, general paint touch up/correction etc. For some reason the car came with the 5 star AMG wheels, possibly done by my grandfather at the dealership since he would autocross the car. There is a few minor issues with the electric seating/air bolstering. The SRS light is on for an unknown reason but I have read it could be the sensor going bad under the passenger side seat. The car has a check engine light, possibly from the old seal on the gas cap. Just put new tires on it last week & a new gas cap is on the way. Eventual plans for billstein shocks/HR lowering springs with the 17 or 18in monoblocks. I plan on keeping this car as pristine as possible, and keeping it forever.

Feel free to ask any questions, I have been lurking here for a few years and know a few of you have been asking about this car for a long time. The wait is over. More updates to come.

Keep it indoors and keep it off the roads. That's probably a $30k car right now. In ten years it will be a $75k car.

Will hands down be the most valuable C43 in the future.

Those monoblocks came on the 2000 MY only. Although I don't like them as munch as the Aero IIs, I'd keep them. Those who know, will know.

the H&Rs ride rough. I'd recommend doing Euro springs (will get you a slight drop while maintaining ride quality).

You have a really nice future with this car. Good idea to fix all those little things now, while parts and private mechanic s are still available. Keep it totally original, or maintain all original take offs. Paint correction and then ceramic coat would be good idea as well.

You have a nice car.
Can we see interior pictures?
Do you have the two tone seats?

How does the new tiptronic transmission shift compared to the older style manumatic?

Beautiful! As mentioned above, don't change the wheels. Those wheels only came factory on the 2000 model year C43. (Or if you do change the wheels, keep the originals in storage/with the car)

Same as this? These wheels came with my silver car I bought and I'm restoring. I would like to sell them as I have so many other wheels.
