So I found this car for sale locally. 2000 C43 in Imperial Red with 73k miles and Designo seats.
it was listed less than 24 hours ago and I called immediately when I saw it.
Seller said it was already sold to a retired professor in Wisconsin who collects C43s. Guy paid $20k (seller was asking $9k).
Asked the seller for the VIN (seller is currently in the hospital). I can't believe there's a MY2000 in the US in Imperial Red. Only 1 red was made according to the press release and that's burgundyc43's car (Titanite Red).
Not sure who this collector is and if you're on here, but you're a lucky guy picking up a car that shouldn't exist in the US.
Unfortunately the post didn't have any other pictures. Seller is a boomer who can't Facebook well (uploaded the same pic twice (as seen in my screenshot), a pic of himself, pics of other cars).
I don’t think it’s a 2000 I’ve kept track of most of them plus no roof antenna can someone verify if it’s a real 2000
I'm still waiting on the VIN. Seller said he'd send to me when he can. Seller is pretty well known around my area (retired MB dealer) so I don't expect false advertising. Now it could it be repainted to an unoriginal color or maybe a car from a different market. Definitely a headscratcher.
Never heard of roof antennas on the C43 at least in non N. American versions. Was it an N. American speciality?
Also if a 2000 MY it should have the tiptronic shifter.

Tail light lenses look like MY2000, right? And the antenna isn't a dead giveaway because I can find pics online of MY2000 C43's without the antenna. Must have been related to an option.
Hey guys. I hit up the seller for the VIN again as I didn't hear back from him. He won't disclose the VIN to protect the buyer. I mentioned to him the car shouldn't exist and now he suggests it could be mistitled for the year. Full text convo for transparency.
Ask him if you can put the buyer in contact with me and Ill sell him my red one(will definetly not lol), Just wanna know who the guy is and what collection he has.
And again, Imperial Red ended in 98. Yea there might be red cars in year 99 but they arent called Iperial Red. If the buyer wa so enthusiastic about these cars, hed know that.

Where are these pics? Im almost 100% certain that all year 2000 had the roof antena
