eclectic assortment of cars
Here's my car at the moment! OE accessory car cover, and sitting on top of several tarps in my backyard! The C43 sits right now whilst my S2000 is my daily driver
during the summer months.

he may have just turned the car off right in the middle and froze it there... thats what you do when you need to lube the wiper internals I believe.

The wiper is parked in the center.

I did not do the mod, but had a friend do it. From what I understand, it takes less than 10 minutes.

when I turn off my wiper then it goes back to original position.
it never stops in the middle.
so how did your friend make the centre wiper stop if it took 10 minutes to do the mod?
it looks cool on a car with single wiper, it gives flasbacks to the 90's era of the DTM race cars

In theory, it takes 10 minutes, but really, with fine tuning and some frustration getting the assembly out, it takes about 45 minutes. I've done it on my old w201 and on my w202.

Thanks.

No, it doesn't bother me. I spend most of my time looking straight ahead while driving and it's obviously not directly in front of me. I notice it when I do look to the right a bit, but after a while, you tend to ignore/forget it's even there. I mean, you're talking about something that's about an inch or less wide; it's not a big visual obstacle.

I've had friends drive my car (for the first time) and they even said they didn't find it bothersome/notice it, and they were the ones who mentioned it would be annoying!

I meant to write if the wiper in the centre position was any annoying when you watch what happens infront of you?
I guess you are used to it's new place now and it doesn't bother you at all.

You think it's a cool mod worth doing it?

Yeah, I definitely think it's worth doing. Not many cars have a monowiper (uniwiper?), let alone DTM-style. The only production cars that have a monowiper parked vertically (at least stock) are Koenigseggs, to my knowledge. It definitely turns heads, especially in a black sedan that grumbles.

I am on the fence about the vertical parked wiper. I think it looks good but I do not think I would want it on my DD although it would make it extremely easy to lube the wiper mechanism...

If it's on racecars, where every little thing is critical, it obviously must not be burdensome to the driver. I'd say do it and if you don't like it, you can always undo it.

By no means do I think that the wiper parked vertically would be a visual obstruction, I just think it might be a little over the top for a DD.

Ricco, I've been obsessed with how my grill looks lately, that's probably why I noticed.

Hey, importfan21, my original question was directed at you, in case I wasn't clear.

I prefer the 5 slats (1 slat for every "/" in the ///// AMG logo ) I think there is too much of a gap at the top and bottom with the 4 slat grille

i like the wider slats. lately ive been thinking my 5 slat grill insert doesnt look good. too many shiny surfaces. i personally think the 4 looks better bc there is less "chrome" and more black space.
