W202 C43 W201 190D 2.2
My 1999 C43, bought it on Tuesday. It is on staggered 18" monoblocks, but that is it for modifications as far as I can tell. Well, no, it did have some nasty KN air filters, though I threw in some OEM paper air filters last night. I do not like oiled filters, period.
I bled the brakes with ATE SL DOT 4. I will do this again next weekend as I noticed quite a bit of sediment being pushed out during the bleed. The pedal feel is much better right now though it can be improved.
I do not know what oil was in it before my purchase, but looking through the oil fill cap hole there was definite build up and some sludge. Not good, but I do not hear any lifter ticking or odd noises, so I think I can correct this. I put BG EPR in the crankcase and ran it at 1200rpm for 15 min. The oil that came out looked like the oil from my 190D 2.2, pitch black. In went Mobil 1 0W40 and a hengst fleece filter. I plan on running this for a week or so, then doing another EPR treatment and oil change.
The coolant I drained looked to be some neon brown-green trash and I flushed a few gallons of Denver water through it before doing a 50:50 Zerex G05 and distilled water fill. The water quality in Denver is outstanding (there are five craft breweries within 2 miles of my house, no correlation really) so no worries on the flush water.
I noticed windshield washer fluid dripping down, so there is a leak somewhere. Ill take out the reservoir next weekend to find out what is leaking. In the mean time it is just a slow drip, but at least it is just washer fluid.
The valve cover gaskets need to be changed as there is a drip of oil every once in a while on the exhaust manifolds. Likewise, I noticed the gasket the driver side breather cover is extruded out in several places and flopping around. I have the valve cover gasket, breather hoses/connectors, and a set of spark plugs to be installed, just need to find the time to get it done.
Plenty more to come.

12' W204 C63 AMG coupe "T-Rex", 12' W451 Smart Fortwo Pulse (99' W202 C43 AMG sold)
Those filters have probably never been cleaned in their lives.

This is probably true. However, check this out: I installed the cabin air filter last night and to my surprise, the filter I removed was certainly not the original item. It was dirty, but it was not filthy. Plus the slide clips that hold it in the dash were not properly secured, so at least someone made the attempt. Compared to my BMWs, the cabin air filter change is a breeze on the W202, but even so it seems to be one of those items that goes unnoticed.

Here are some pics from the AMG SoCal Lounge 1st Annual Meet @ the Mercedes-Benz Vehicle processing center. And some others as well and a pic of your's truly in the 43.

Tony is da man!
Looks gangstah in a Benz.
Aren't you worried scraping your wheels when you wash your car in the automatic washer?
wheel rail pulling your car forward is a bit narrow for 17 inch wheels

Just joined the forum and thought I'd say hi by posting a picture of my 2000 c43 amg. It's the first mercedes I've owned, its been well kept by previous owners and for me its just a car I'll use on sunny days when I want to enjoy a drive (I got a toyota beater car for everything else)

are these cars very expensive to buy and own in Norway, taxes are they very steep?
Denmark has similar taxes like Norge for cars

@CM60K than you
@DRBCC43AMG It only has a "regular" automatic transmisson, no paddles on the wheel or anything fancy like that.
@KOWALSKI Interresting info regarding the painted door handles and grill, thank you. It stuff like this I've joined the forum for, getting to learn stuff from people with some knowledge about these cars I have most of the paperwork from when the car was new, and it is registered as a 2000 model. A data sheet from Daimler with the vehicle identification number, engine/trans id, options etc etc states the car was manufactured in "0670 bremen" and "shipment date 17.09.1999".
There's almost never any of these for sale in norway so I don't know if the price I got it for is good/typical for these. But looking at what is for sale right now that is kind of comparable: there is a 1996 c36 amg that they're asking 23890 USD for (200.000 NOK) which is the same price I got mine for, and that c36 isn't in the same good shape as mine is. Prices are high because we get taxed to death because of the engine size/horsepower. For a LOT of cars, the taxes themselves are many times more than the price of the actual car Welcome to eco-crazy tax-loving norway.
Insurance costs me about 950-960 USD pr year, and thats with the lowest milage possible / park in a seperate locked garage / no loan on the car / 75% bonus / no other drivers than myself etc etc Concidering the prices here, that's actually not bad.
@TONY_AMG Thank you! I'll take more pictures of it (inside and out) when I can. We have about 8 months of winter here, and then there are 4 months where it mostly rains, so.. But I'll make it happen. The interior is black leather with carbon trim and it has the multi contour seats (I don't know if those are optional or standard on these)

Do you have this or not?
Do you have the same options like mine?
I have fitted some extra styling parts to my car which are not factory original like illuminated AMG door sills, extra VDO gauges in centre console
If your close to Strömstad it will be cheaper for you to fill your tank with svensk gasoline rather than paying for x-pensive norsk gasoline
btw
check your inbox upper right corner, i have sent you a pm

The gear selector itself looks just like yours, but I'm not sure what you mean by "gear selector where the clock is" (sorry, I'm not the brightest person in the world, I'm so very well avare of that ) so I took a picture of the gauge cluster. Do you mean that it says what gear you're in by the clock?

Since you seemed so amazed by that, I took another trip down to the garage because I got the sneaking suspicion that I've been a dumb*ss again and... waddayaknow... I was right, here's how the shifter is in my car:
Only owned it for about 2 weeks and as previously stated: it's either winter or raining here, so... yeah... I remembered incorrectly, sorry.
