Hello Bobby,

If you look around through the threads on this board, you are not the first to ask.., and some have given some pretty good answers. I have a 1995 C36 which is now over 90k miles.. These are the few "issues" that come to mind..
--Head Gasket (engine runs HOT)
--Diesel Engine Sound (its hard to get rid of-- if at all, and is basically normal for the c36)
--Wiring Harness will likely need replacement at this age (I just had mine replaced.. it was rotting, CEL came on, misfiring, etc.. now its like new-- approx cost $2500 at a dealer)

With VIN number, I think dealer could pull up record with STAR network. Mine is a 95 over 120K miles. Aside from wireharness, I have no problem (except me been to **** on a 10 year old car).

STAR did show that mine head gasket was replaced at about 90K. I had to replace wire harness at about 110K mile.

You'll like C36.....gurantee

and if u don't drive the car much, or if the car doesn't get driven much.. the fuel level sensors in the fuel tank can fail. i've replaced mine twice already over the span of 7 years on 22k miles..

Were the wiring harness issues fixed after '95? I already went through this with my '93 300E. Is the problem caused by inadequate heat shielding?

Bobby,

In addition to this forum check out club202.com and bnzsport.com as a few of use with C36 on these 2 forums as well.

But to get you started,
here are some example of the discussion surrounding C36, maintenance, repair and reliability.
