How do these look?

Thought you guys might appreciate these...

After looking at a pretty wide range of door pins, thought these looked the best:

The part number is A 099 766 01 00 2A17.

Here is the origin:

They look pretty good! Now there are two types to choose from - these and the 3rd party ones which also look pretty good.

I was thinking that these clips came with each door pin, but you order them separately (A 099 766 00 00). Their price is actually kind of comical (like $1.50 each). So the whole shooting match is like $40.

The steps are:

1. Order four of these A 099 766 01 00 2A17:

...and four of these A 099 766 00 00:

2. Remove current door pin:

Should look like:

3. Follow this proceedure:

Here is the trick that the MB master mechanic told me (and I can confirm that you need to do it this way). Connect both the door pin and clip together and then lock the door, next push the door pin/clip combo down as far as it goes... it will lock in place. If you attempt to screw down the black clip and then push the door pin over it (as designed), it will stick up too high.

Are the pins knurled aluminum or are they plastic? For Al, the price seems to good to be true.

Plastic, but it's not easy to tell and you never actually have to touch them after you install them.

I couldn't be happier. I like them way better than any replacement pins that I have seen.

Nice, thanks for the details Viper.

When my Coupe arrives, I'll be between these and the JBSPEED AMG metal pins. I wish these were metal, if they were, I'd be on them in a heartbeat...alas, it'll be a tough decision to make.

Nice... you will only need two. For $20, it might be worth trying them just to see if you like them. Do the metal ones even come in sets other than four?

Actually, better yet... Just go in to your dealer and take a look at a GT S... they are exactly the same.

Yeah, you mean these:

$50 would be the MSRP. These are the other pins that people refer to.

Door Pins

I got mine 2 years ago. Front easy install. Back doors a lot more work, have to remove door panel and do some fitting work!

I don't know if the coupes are diff but I ordered the AMG metal ones ( for a 2016 C63S sedan)and installed them and all 4 just screw off and the new ones just screw back on. Nothing to take apart.
I had to use a pliers to get them started off but just screwed the news ones on with fingers and snugged up with cloth protection and pliers.

Where in the hell did these come from, they don't look like any of these?

The GT door pins just need to be pressed down to lock in place... front and back doors.

I replaced my door pins with these a few days back. I slightly damaged the driver side one screwing it down with the cloth/pliers method. Not enough material between the pliers and the pin so some of the little "nodules" flattened a little. Have ordered a replacement.

Just ordered two of the OEM AMG ones for our Coupe, PN A0007660800 from a supplier in Germany, still cheaper than the UK even with the continuing collapsing value of Sterling.

Can you post the link to where you ordered from or was it just from eBay? The link above is just to a PDF?

I bounced this around and it sounds like it's probably not too bad of a job, the cost is probably the biggest road block. We are probably looking at some where around $2500 to $3000 to replace the five belts.

Thx brother... I have been really surprised at how MB has been limiting the number of cars that can be optioned with designo and performance seats. It's looking more and more like you will have to get an Edition 1 vehicle to get that combination (or buy a GT ).
