Install happens tomorrow. Reviews to follow. And before anyone asks, I don't own a GoPro or windproof microphone so don't expect any game changer audio clips. You will however get an unbiased opinion on sound from a guy who has played the drums for 18 years and only knows that the factory burmeister stereo at it's loudest volume.

Ok, just picked up the car but I have a few questions if you can help out Josh. My installer noted that a cross brace needed to be remove and the instructions didn't show to reinstall it. Is the rear cross brace just there to hold the OEM system in place? Also, my track system came with 2 round things that look like spacers but we were sure where they go.

The car sounds pretty damn good. I held it at 60 mph and it didn't bother me one bit. For some reason I'm feeling like the car is down on power. Is there some reason why the car would have to relearn the new flow and cuts power?

That was quick. Yes, the cross brace is to be re-installed. The two circles are lock collars to put on the rear exhaust hangers. They prevent the hanger rod from shifting in and out of the hanger mount.

Just needs a bit of adjustment. Loosen all slip joints, place a jack/stand under the point that is preventing the cross brace from being installed. Jack it up for clearance and then tighten before lowering the jack/stand.

Email me if you'd like! My address is in my sig.

I've got a question for everyone who has changed out their stock exhaust. What did you do with the tremendous OEM system? Goddamn that thing is heavy and cumbersome.

Congrats on your new exhaust!

I left mine at the shop. They had a way to recycle it.

Curious about your comment: "the car is down on power". Do you still feel that way? Has it changed?

Power feel better today. It felt off yesterday when I first picked it up. Strangely enough, it is less prone to crackling now. It really only wants to backfire over 6k, but when it does, LOOKOUT.

Just took my wife for a ride. A direct quote from her: "there is something wrong with your brain". She is a phycologist, she should know.

I am not certified in the realm of mental health, but I believe you're a-okay (in my book, at least )

They're back in full force now. It seems like 2 things occured right after install:
  • The car felt down on power like it needed to relearn the new flow and adjusted power
  • The new muffler needed to be "broken in" before the insulating material settled in
One week later the power feels like it is all there again, and all the burbles and crackles are where they should be.

Posting pics of the AWE Touring Exhaust I got in April this year. Great quality, sound and added performance. Highly recommended!

Enjoy your mufflers (scoff). I hope your wife likes them (Laugh).
A couple weeks in with my track exhaust and I really like it. Nobody else likes it though. My wife says there is something wrong with my brain, and she is a psychologist, so she should know.
My dog Poe effing hates it. He sits at the front window howling when I pull up.
Track is very noisy locally with stop sign to stop sign. There is quite a bit of mwop mwop under load at low RPM, but that just gives me a reason to rev higher.

my installer couldn't install the cross brace either. it's sitting in the basement next to the OEM exhaust. I kept the exhaust since the car is a lease and will be installing it back on when it's time to turn it in.

does your exhaust hang a little below the body line?

Maybe, but its not noticable from the profile with the naked eye if it is. No ground clearance issues or bottoming out here.

Interesting. There is clearance - a small amount - but when installed, clamped, and tightened correctly you shouldn't have any issue installing the brace.
