Yea - it sux. They put it on a number of other models but not the C class for some reason. I was disappointed as well when I ordered my 2016 C63. I figured for sure the 17 models would have it, but I was apparently wrong.

Your correct as I had a rental Cruise lately and it had it.
I did not even know it had it and plugged in my iPhone to charge and it popped up and was very good.
Voice texting and had the Audible book I was listening to available with no effort so it looks to be a nice feature.

This is a major bummer, but not enough to deter me from getting the car (although the other car I'm considering - CTS-V had Carplay and android auto). Maybe they will do like Kia and offer it as a software update sometime???

I did not order the multimedia pkg last year under the impression that their would be Carplay and the worst part is that my SA had confirmed it with me at time of ordering that it would have it. Little did I know then that he knows nothi!

after using apple carplay in other cars for a while now I have to say it's not a deal breaker
carplay isn't perfect and not only that, it relies on cell reception and forces you to be on the same screen as your phone.
It's useful but by no means a must have at this point. Wireless carplay may be interesting (paired with wireless charging). But that's a few years away at least in this car IMO.
