Running in protocol / AMG C43?
My dealer is telling me, when I pick my new C43 up, that I need to run it in for 1000 miles keeping it strictly below 3k revs.
I have no objection to this, but I've read so many conflicting statements from new owners on here, I'm not sure what to believe / trust?
So, has anyone else been told the same, or is it a case of different rules between one dealer to another?

if you only drive it under 3000 rpm (when on the C43 I think probably be around 4500-5000 rpm), the piston rings might not seal right. even an M4 or something they say just to drive it under 5500rpm and its redline is a bit over 7500.
I fully appreciate the replies guys, although the different responses are exactly why I posted this question....as its a new model, I wondered if there was a definitive protocol on this engine as the dealer has suggetsed to me.
He also told me that they had a C63 returned with engine blown at 2k miles, as it had not been run in properly.
If thats true or not I dont know, but its making me slightly jittery about ensuring I run it in correctly. i.e. if 3k revs wont be enough to seat the rings, when 4k would, etc.
Again, from what he's said to me, these engines are a different kettle of fish for running in compared to other engines, M4's, etc.
I know the M's need to have a run in service, where the AMG's do not, so I want to make sure I get this right.
All a bit of a minefield.
