Running in protocol / AMG C43?

I've read many different reports / views with this on various AMG's so thought I'd try to get a definitive answer here?

My dealer is telling me, when I pick my new C43 up, that I need to run it in for 1000 miles keeping it strictly below 3k revs.
I have no objection to this, but I've read so many conflicting statements from new owners on here, I'm not sure what to believe / trust?

So, has anyone else been told the same, or is it a case of different rules between one dealer to another?

I thought it was supposed to be limited under 4.5k revs. Personally, I would just follow the recommendation. There are so many conflicting stories out there, but I'd rather be safe than sorry. This doesn't mean that you shouldn't open her up once in a while during break-in period. Regardless of whether people say to be cautious or drive it hard, I think keeping it under the rev limit for the MOST part is best.

Look it up in the owner's manual when you pick up your car. For a C43, my recommendation would be to take it easy the first 1,000 miles. Avoid sport/sport+ modes.

i think in general, i've been told for all cars, that the idea is to drive it in most of the rev range, but not to go to the top of the break in rev range until its been warmed up for say 5 min.

if you only drive it under 3000 rpm (when on the C43 I think probably be around 4500-5000 rpm), the piston rings might not seal right. even an M4 or something they say just to drive it under 5500rpm and its redline is a bit over 7500.

There is no way I'm going to have the time to start sifting through the owners manual after pick up and before my 300 mile trip home.....do they even now come with a manual, is everything not now going digitial in that respect?

I fully appreciate the replies guys, although the different responses are exactly why I posted this question....as its a new model, I wondered if there was a definitive protocol on this engine as the dealer has suggetsed to me.

He also told me that they had a C63 returned with engine blown at 2k miles, as it had not been run in properly.

If thats true or not I dont know, but its making me slightly jittery about ensuring I run it in correctly. i.e. if 3k revs wont be enough to seat the rings, when 4k would, etc.
Again, from what he's said to me, these engines are a different kettle of fish for running in compared to other engines, M4's, etc.

I know the M's need to have a run in service, where the AMG's do not, so I want to make sure I get this right.
All a bit of a minefield.

I followed the manual...first 1500kms no sport or sport+, no full throttle acceleration and don't go past 4500 rpm (as tempting as it was).

I drove mine in Sports+ since the moment I received my C450 but I did keep the RPMs below 4500rpm close to 80% of the time. I also kept my speed below 85mph but I played with the rpms a bit I heard its no good to keep it at a steady rpm so I made sure it tested the range (up to 4500) often

haha, I'm doing the same. Whatever girl happens to be around the week that my car is delivered is in for a nice, free weekend trip to somewhere ~400-500 miles away.
