C43 AMG 2017 Chip Performance ECU
#26
I've been using the vivid racing piggyback and love it so far.. pulls smooth, pulls harder at the bottom and where stock you feel power taper off a bit towards the top of the RPM range, it now keeps pulling hard all through, still has all the crack/pops (if not more prominent)

And they're not going to void the warranty if, for example, something completely unrelated to the motor breaks. They'll fix it under warranty.
The real test is if you have something in the powertrain break. That's when they can go "we're not covering this because you're running a modified ECU."

Maximum performance is gotten a lot easier by just spending the extra 13k and get the C63. Brabus power kit is 3k, and you get other worthwhile stuff including of course the hand-built AMG V8 for the remaining 10k.

But then you have to upgrade to the c63s. And then chip the 63s too. Then you might as well get a Brabus C650...and on and on.....

BTW I don't have vested interested in either, just speaking objectively.

The JB1 word in my previous post is the link.
I trust the company enough. They've been around long enough in the BMW and then VW world which is where I come from. I haven't come across anything negative to put me off of their products.
Bottom line is, OP asked for a DIY kit which at this point his only option is piggy back. There are no tune at home kits. ECU needs to be removed and sent out which for someone living in Canada means long downtime or expensive shipping costs.
I have been using this for awhile now and put enough KMs on it with 0 issues. I've been to the dealership multiple times as well and I've removed it easily.
Crackles and pops are still there. I run 91 octane. I can switch to map 2 and run 93 if I wanted to.
The unit cost me under $500. How much is that brabus kit?

Looks like Dinan is about to release the piggy back sport unit for the C43. They have done testing on the 400/450 with positive results so there might be another option coming shortly

I'm trying to gin up a group buy for the c400, c450, c43 and cls400. If interested, please say so and I'll pass the numbers along. This is likely to be a winner from a winner and a real value!

I'd pick up a JB1 for the C43 in a second if they launched one. Super company and good value product.

The JB1 is available for our cars (http://burgertuning.com/mercedes_ben...nce_tuner.html), the issue is that they stopped reserach/tuning for the W205.

I have not. Map 2 requires 93/mods. I have no mods and don't really want to put in any 93.
Honestly I haven't come across a scenario where I didn't have enough power. So for me map 1 is sufficient. Plenty of usable power in rain, snow, or shine!
JB1 works for the C43. You have the same engine as a C450.

Eurocharged is also a solid company to consider for ECU tunes. Only if they can be a bit more competitive to OE Tuning Pricing $1195 and not $1999 for less HP and TQ.
Also OE Tuning is now offering 20% off their tunes right now which also makes it way more attractive!

MBWorld Fanatic!
Piggybacks are OK, but if you really want to unleash the 3.0L, then go full tune.
OE-Tuning or AMR are the best so far for this platform. And their prices are not astronomically ridiculous like the others.

I payed $1600 total for my tune and downpipes. ~450hp/530tq and I have AWD. While the V8 guys are spinning their tires, I'm gone
And "still not a full AMG".... Uh, who cares? No one you'll ever meet or run into on the road will care; unless it's a "real AMG" driver

Why are you talking about dumping that much money into it? Any car is worth "dumping money into" if the owner sees fit.
