AMG Exterior Options?

Hey guys,

Does anyone have any pictures of the C43 (Or 63/63S for that matter) with the optional "AMG rear flics", "AMG front splitter," "AMG Rear Apron trim", and "AMG Side Sill panels." I'm a bit confused about these parts, as is the sales assistant at my local dealership. It seems to me that the AMG side sills may be standard on the C63, but then why are they an option? When the dealer goes to order the car, these options are actually not on the order form. My sales assistant thought that the car is probably not assembled at the plant with these parts, and that they are added at some later point (possibly by the dealer?). The only thing I've been able to find online about them is the following article: http://mercedesblog.com/exclusive-am...are-available/

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

You can see them here: http://www.mercedes-amg.com/customiz...odels&lang=eng

Just some additional 'aero' trim customisation

That's a good find!

Note - the side sills are different on the C63s Edition 1 vs the C63s, they are a fair bit wider. (Coupe. I'm not sure about the saloon/sedan)

My sales assistant just emailed me that he was sent those pictures from the AMG specialist in response to asking about these parts, so there they are for anyone buying a 43/63/63S! They definitely make the white a much more attractive option, I'm leaning towards black though and still think these parts would look good on black, thanks for the responses.

Definitely, the side skirts on the ed1 are a lot wider on the coupe...

Just received my Production Order from my dealer for a C63s sedan and I have a few questions.

851 Acoustic glass...no separate cost...is this standard on this model?

068 Wheel locking bolts...I did not have this on my spec sheet provided to the dealer but now it is showing as a $150 option. Before I tell the dealer to delete it, I have never had any problems with stolen wheels. Im getting the 5 spoke 19's and the car is in my garage. More importantly is there a cosmetic difference with and without the locks? If it looks worse with the locks I don't want them.

Cant seem to quickly find pictures of this.

U47 AMG Rear Spoiler. Is this just what comes with the car and i have no control over this? Its under standard accessories. I did not order the optional carbon fiber one.

If I were getting white then I would 100000% be getting all of these accessories, including the flics. My C43 is going to be black though so I'm on the fence over whether the accessories will even be noticeable, I might just order them after I receive the car so I can go back to stock if I don't like them.

Heres a question I have ( C63S coupe on order for February build ) .... can the standard rear spoiler be removed? Or be deleted form my build all together ... I do not really care for it and think it ruins the natural slope/look of the rear end. Removing the spoiler would give it a little more of that nice flowing S/GT rear end look that I really like. Thoughts from those that have a coupe in hand... thanks in advance

C63 Coupe Black Series
I have a C63 S Edition 1, will take some pics when its daylight but in summary:
  • Front splitter is a deeper piece than the non Ed 1, a mix of carbon and gloss black.
  • Side sills are big gloss black pieces
  • Rear flics in gloss black
  • Large rear lip in gloss black
  • Rear diffuser is a deeper piece than the non Ed 1, a mix of carbon and gloss black.

I'm just getting mine replaced by a bigger Brabus piece in carbon so the answer is yes, it can be removed by a good bodyshop. Pics to follow.

I think you have to drill holes to fit them though, so it'll be tricky to go back if you change your mind about them

This was on my build sheet as well. I insisted they back the charge out. I'm not paying for something I do not want or need.
They did try to convince me it was in my best interest to keep them... Ya, right!!

I think dealers put them on as a small profit generator and also perhaps to get a reduced insurance rate for the dealership.

Are you sure? I thought these parts were designed with ease of installation in mind, I didn't think they involved any drilling or modifying.

I agree, they look great on a white car. however, it all comes down to whether I need to drill or not, which I'm not really sure about.

I think you can get away with 3m tape.
I used 3m tape for this on my GLA, it was supposed to be bolted not the bumper.

This is great for day to day but if you're punching the car it will fly right off.
