Carbon Fiber Wrap Grill Emblem

Searched around for a carbon fiber grille emblem and couldn't find any vendors who offered this (amazingly); so I decided to wrap one in 3M carbon vinyl to see if I like it. Not sure if I'll keep it, but thought it might give some ideas.

I think it might look good too to do the silver part of the front bumper and chrome slats on the grille. Maybe even if you left the star chrome.

Definitely looks good though.

Not a fan tbh, although it'll provide protections from the elements

Would look great gloss black!

Its a very personal thing but I'm starting to go off naked carbon fiber now... It just seems to be everywhere.

Nice wrapping skills BTW

Get a couple more elements in carbon fiber: the bottom lip, mirrors, rear spoiler bottom part...

I would keep it for a while, looks nice, then in about 6 months to a year, when you get bored, try a different vinyl.

If it's a matter of personal taste, I'd keep it.

Everywhere or not everywhere, naked carbon fiber provides a nice texture, and the 3M vinyl is pretty strong and sturdy compared to others. I just got about 25 samples, and tried my nail on all of them. This one doesn't seem to show any marks.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I'm going to take a stab at wrapping the chrome slits on the grille as well. I'm actually very surprised none makes a true carbon fiber grille/star for this yet.

How did you do the two chrome pieces to the left and right of the Mercedes star emblem? I wrapped mine in gloss black but I couldn’t figure out how to detach the two chrome pieces from the grill. How’d you detach them from the grill?

I realize this post is 3+ years old, but I just had the urge to do this exact thing with glossy black wrap. Good job btw. I was just wondering how difficult this is, given I have never attempted to wrap anything before. For some reason I think properly wrapping the outer circle will be a challenge. Did you have to do anything special? Did you wrap the emblem with it on the car? I know it comes off quite easily, but unfortunately on the 2019 it doesn’t in fact I believe I would have to remove the grill should I want to take it off. That said I would need to wrap mine while on the vehicle. Not sure if this will make it more difficult tbh. Anyways, any insight you can share would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

I wrapped the chrome part with 3M carbon fiber (not hard) and PlastiDipped the front star (also easy).
