Active Brake Assist function limited
I've searched but didn't find any topic with this.
So just yesterday in my multi-display screen I see "Active Brake Assist function limited, please see owner's manual". I checked the manual and the list of things that could cause this but didn't see anything that stood out.
I've also tried shutting down the engine and restarting but same thing, the message comes back on.
Has anyone else experience this?

I had this once when it was snowing - the front of the car and upper part of the window (area outside the wipers) was covered by snow/ice. However once ice was gone, the systems worked again.

I am in Southern California so my current temp is around 58F so it can't be due to the cold for me.
But I will see if it has something to do with the window area as Rippe suggested.

So cleaning all the sensors didn't do anything. So I ended going to the service dept. and it "could" be a bigger issue than I thought. They said they would probably need the car the whole day or 2 and they would need to probably remove the bumper to check all sensors..etc. Well that's unfortunate, its a new freaking car!!

Ok just to give an update incase this happens to anyone else. It turns out they just had to update the software as they say...Something about the VIN is not being communicated to the sensor. I am like "what does the VIN have to do with the active brake assist"...anywho...

E200 W213 Automatic 9 gear
Same issue + some others
I had the same issue several times in a few days.
the error message said that the active brake system wasn't fully operational but also showed the icon for the ESP as being in error.
The major issue was that I also had some side effects being the (automatic) gearbox shifting in neutral with no means to change it. Just rolling to a stop and stopping/restarting up to the next occurence.
Yesterday I went for service and indeed they updated some SW modules without further explanation.
In the evening I had 3 more occurences with once the gear remaining in 2nd gear and motor running stationary. No reaction on the gas pedal whatsoever.
Last time the car could shift gears but the revolutions remained at 1500 RPM without any means to change them....
Only stop/start helped.
This behaviour up to now only occurred at limited speed but if this happens on a highway it would become a little more exciting I suppose.
I now switched off the Brake assist in the settings and will see if it makes a difference in coming days.

Picked up my 2020 GLC 43 coupe in March. This has been an issues since day 1. I’ve taken it twice to MB. Both times they claimed it was a software issue. The software update has not resolved the issue. Irrespective of the weather conditions or the cleanliness of the car, the message keep coming up. The functionality after closing the error message seems to be working, though I’m not 100 percent certain. I will be taking it back yet again.
Could I ask, is it normal for the message to pop up repeatedly on drives?
