C43 18" winter wheel/tire updates
Any issues going 225 square vs. stock 225F 245R ?
Also what offsets are folks using successfully? I see +30 and +35.
Date is fast approaching for the car to arrive (yipeeee!) and will need to make a selection soon.
No wonder these idiots post all day on FB about how much they hate winter and driving in snow. Freakin morons I tell ya.
My previous 2 vehicles (535d and X535d) weighed a lot more, so they did better on similar tires. Also think BMW traction control is a little less invasive, if that makes sense. But no complaints, overall.
I am leasing, so 6 collective tire swaps on the same rims are OK by me, but I wouldn't recommend it to someone owning the car for the long term. They never seem to balance properly after too many swaps. Buy an extra set of rims.

There is no doubt there is an expense to a winter setup, but of you consider that it saves mileage on your summer set, and can save a collision or worse, it's actually quite cheap to have a winter setup.
This is #Trumpnation and we don't stand for those things anymore!
True as well, because there is no law in the States requiring winter tires during winter.
I didn't always have "privileges" myself. Back when I was 19 and working at a ski resort for $8.50/hr, I remember putting $600 worth of snow tires for my A4 on a CC. I knew that if I was to talk the talk that I had better walk the walk. Especially driving up the mountain 120 days a season. worked my *** off to pay them off and drove circles around everyone driving up there everyday. 100% worth it.

I currently live in a climate where buying a winter tire/wheel package genuinely doesn't make too much sense, but I want to have the security and all-around capability of being able to drive confidently in inclement weather when it does come around the few times a year. Also would like to be able to drive on plowed roads for weekend ski trips.
What's the consensus on the 18's and the standard all-seasons, given my requirements above? Seem reasonable?

However living in Canada, having 2 sets (summers and snows) is the ONLY way to go.
Their website says these will fit, has anyone any experience with this size and offset?
is that an 18x8 with 42mm offset?
Typically in 18x8 it's either a 30mm or 35mm offset that works based on what's been posted around here. I don't think 42mm will work but what do I know, I'm in sales......
Have him searching for 30 - 35mm options, availability and prices.
