2017 C43 Differential Oil

Hello and thanks in advance for an answer.

Do I need to change the differential oil at 2000 miles?

I have seen posts on this topic for the C63 and S but not my car.

I have called several MB dealers (spoke to actual service advisers) here in So.
Cal. Some say yes, some say no, one did not know.

It's close to $180

Thanks

As far as I am aware off, C43s do not need a differential oil change. Also differential oil changes should be covered under warranty if anything, you are not supposed to pay for it.

Keep us updated if it is indeed needs to be done. I will try and call my dealership today.

Just called them, definitely not needed for the C43.

Thanks munis, not sure why the dealers I called said yes. Here's one for you.....how the heck can I turn off the ECO start / stop button permanently?...........many times when I come to a stop my C43 engine shuts off until I release the brake, then it turns on again. I can manually turn it off by pushing the button but this has to be done every time I start the car which is a pain.

I do not think there is anyway around it unless you are driving in sports or sports+ mode. The feature itself really isn't that bad if you plan your stop a bit better.

The brake pedal has 3 progressive stages depending on how much you are pushing it:

- 1st stage is to just hold the car stationery
- 2nd stage is to trigger the auto start/stop and turn of the engine
- 3rd stage is to trigger the brake hold function. Then you can just take your foot off the pedal and standstill at the lights.

In all stages, pressing the accelerator would make the car drive off immediately.

That means when braking to a stop, once you have used the brakes to stop the car, do not push in the brake hard completely all the way, that way the engine would remain on, and you can avoid the interruption.

Try it a couple of times and you will get into a habit of doing this. I never have problem with it now atleast. Just press the brake pedal just enough to hold the car stationery(1st stage), and then you if you want to turn it off, push in a little bit more(2nd stage), then if you want to use the brake hold feature, push it even more(3rd stage).

I just set up the Individual mode with all the settings exactly how I want them (ECO off). That way I just get in the habit of putting it in Individual mode as the first thing I do before driving off.

Excellent idea!!

BTW, the only time the ECO button is OFF automatically is in Sport+

In sport, it is ON.

I was just wondering did you find a way to directly jump to the individual setting instead of toggling through comfort, sport and sport+ all the way to individual?

Just thinking here, but why do you prefer that instead of just pushing the autostart/off button once and turning it off?

I prefer the engine in Sport+, the Suspension in Sport, the Steering in Sport, the ECO off and the climate in Comfort. Also, coming from manual cars, I prefer to drive in manual paddle shifting mode 100% of the time.

With that said, I start the car, toggle up 3 times quick and hit the manual shifting button (literally takes 2 seconds)... and I'm off !!
