The noises made by excess fuel in the exhaust system was from overflow in carburated engines when you lift off the gas. The sounds nowadays are made by spraying a tiny amount of fuel into the exhaust system to simulate the noise of the old carburated engines.
As far as I can tell there's no computer tweak to make it do more of that, but I guess you can get rid of the muffler to make your car louder.

If you want a lot of pops, you should put in an anti lag system. Switch it on, and as soon as you go off boost, the system kicks in to maintain boost pressure with continuous backfires.

The tuning companies are probably a little more focused more on performance than audio only tweaks, the stock settings probably erred on the conservative side with that, even the old carburated engines only had a few pops when you lift off.

Are there any Anti lag systems available for these cars? I ALWAYS WANTED ONE!

Thing is if you bring this up with the dealership, I know exactly how they are going to react. They will be like it is all in your head, then I would say no it isn't, they would say yes it is and it will continue.
If anyone here can give me a very viable argument for getting this diagnosed from the dealership, I will be more than willing to do the leg work.

I do have comparison videos, but I can't tell for all the service centers, but ones I have been dealing with point blank refused to look at some pictures I had of my tail lights with condensation in them. As far as I have seen they don't take in video or photo evidence. They apparently have to diagnose it themselves.

As to exhaust note, I think it may be hard to tell a difference from videos. Temperature, road condition etc. may vary.
Also, my personal note, when the temperature is very cold, and engine/exhaust/transmission temp are low - there's almost no pops and cracks from the exhaust (in sport +). Same day I tested it when all those temps went up, I could hear the exhaust not clearly (didn't notice a "quieter sound" - 2000 miles since delivery)

I have not had my exhaust note get quieter but my c63s compaired to my friends we got them a few days after each other and his has 3000 miles and mine has 2500. When revving in park i get very loud cracks and bangs almost every single time i rev and he can rev for 10 minutes straight and not even get one in race mode.

i have 9k kms on mine and on idle its quiet. on cold start is a rumble but when its warm on idling its half the sound or less. no pops or crackles on revs. i sometimes get a little pop/crackle on shifting.
when i start moving from a light you can hear the rumble a bit more. i will be cutting out the secondary cats tho soon. i need more sound in my life. easy and cheap mod.

This thread's making me worried - guessing it's a sensible idea to get some videos demonstrating exhaust noise at delivery so there's a reference point in case they claim it's all in your head later on.
Is there a sensible place to sample the noise to get a decent reference - put a GoPro next to exhaust at idle, at x RPM or similar?

Small update guys, the exhaust being quieter might have been due to really cold temperatures. This weekend the temperature is a very nice 15C, and the car is properly loud again.
No idea behind the physics of this, but thought I will let you guys know.

The weekend weather here in the GTA was beautiful - I tested the cold / warm weather theory too and was pleasantly surprised as well! Mystery solved

Interesting...
Last Thursday I had a C43 w/PE loaner for a few hours. It had just over 6,000 kms on the odo. When I got my C43 w/PE back (it only has ~500kms on the odo), I found my C43 definitely sounded louder.
Same day... same ambient temps.

Check his Instagram... although not the comparison video he promised, he posted his "exhaust updated" ED 1 doing some revs ( albeit with a birthday cake and candles in tow ) ... none the less, the thing sounds pretty bloody mean and louder, maybe its just the cameras position, who knows ....
