Felt like clutch slipping in 2nd gear.

Something happened yesterday that never occurred in my 8 months of driving this car that kinda scared the hell out of me. I love my C43 to death so any problems like this gives me a proper fright.

Thing is I have seen someone mention having this problem somewhere in the threads here that I didn't pay attention to.

I was hamming the car a bit yesterday in downtown. Ok no, I was really hammering on the car yesterday. Like accelerate, change to second, sometimes to third, engine brake and slow down and repeat.

Thing is these days with outside temperature being around 25C, the engine temp reaches as high as 113 and trans temp @ 102C in my car when I am going at it.

Then suddenly after at one point, it suddenly felt like the clutch has let go at 2nd gear. Like the rpm was all the way up 6.5k with little to no acceleration. I let the gas go, shifted to parking and waited for a bit. Went to comfort, drove for a while, and then went to S+ again, and the problem disappeared like it never happened.

You guys mind chiming in on what went on here?

Just found that thread where another member had the same problem. It was @coladin. Hopefully he will be able to shed some light.

Hey there. Yup, clutch slipping like you are on a sheet of ice, and rough shifting. I went to the dealer and they told me they did some software calibration, an update, and it has bee much, much better.

Do you have a copy of that Workorder by any chance?

Some months back, I had reason to deal with a 7g issue and found two Sevice managers, not advisers, who likely can diagnose transmission issues that don't produce fault codes.

John Sheppard in Lynwood, Wa, and Ronnie Loo at Thornhill in Toronto.

Visited Ronnie Loo at ThornHill last week, he told me there is absolutely no software updates available for my car.

Miscommunications?

It is NOT an "update" but a patch that is car specific. It is written in Germany.

My problem was with a 7g. At that time, Thornhill was the only North American dealer to identify and fix it. Ronnie gave me the information I needed to get a U.S. Dealer to ask AMG for a vehicle specific patch, not new software. Good luck.
