on this car i'd stay to ~1.5% or less increased rolling diameter over stock if you can. Just more body roll and more steering numbness came from increasing to ~2.3% over stock

Alright so I've read most all of this thread but don't see 20" talked about a lot... If I want zero rub issues, should I not go with 20".
I am a total car/wheel newb so I don't know a lot about wheel measurements, etc.

I just purchased a C450 AMG yesterday and would just like to get her a new pair of shoes this week and was initally planning on going with the 20" OEM AMG black but now after reading this it may be out of the question?

Should I stick with the 18" stock I have on her now, go with 19" AMG or 20" AMG?

Thanks in advance!

I think 20s might be too much for a small car. I live in Boston so I try to keep oem sizes. I think there’s no oem 20s for c class anyways

The issue I was running into with 20's is lack of choices. Plus the tires will cost more and you really get limited selection.

Agreed.. after going to the wheel shop yesterday and talking with the shop tech we agreed it would be too much and a stiff ride i wont want to deal with.
Going with the 19" Y Spoke AMG wheels like Alexasa has.

Thanks!

Nice! Are these the 19" or 20"? Is your suspension stock? Spacers?

Verde Empire.

I have a corporate account with Verde so I can give some pretty good deals to fellow members!

Don't want to be a debbie downer here - but this is the fitment thread and that does not fit. Note - a wider tire will only accentuate how much this does not fit - creating a mexiflush look.

if you like the look - by all means.

Hi guys,

Currently have a '17 C43 Sedan and, like many others on this forum, have had enough of the stock wheel / run flat setup. I ordered a set of Motegi Racing MR127 which are supposed to arrive tomorrow, but I'm getting anxiety reading the fitment issues.

I'm hoping to run a square setup with these MR127s, 18x8 with +38mm offset, wrapped in Continental DWS06 225/50.

The website I ordered from, along with the technicians confirmed via their chat that I shouldn't have any issues. Is this the case? I'm hoping so, I'd appreciate any thoughts!

everything about this is wrong - tire diameter is too big and offset won't clear inner front suspension

18x8et30 on 225/45/18 should be what you're looking for or even 235/45/18 to bump the tire size up a hair

Will spacers fix this? Or the tires are simply too big to even fit in the wells?

As mentioned above, the tire is the wrong size diameter wise. As for the wheel offset, you’d need like a 6mm to 8mm spacer but I think that size doesn’t exist.

I know its not quite the stock setup but according to this there is a loss of 9.8mm in the arches. I measured my current stock setup and I have much more room than that. Unless I'm missing something / the guys at Extreme Customs have absolutely no idea what they're doing, please inform me, I'm a novice at this stuff. For the offset, the stock 19 wheel is 7.5 with a +33 offset, so by using a 8 inch +38 tire, aren't I mostly compensating for the extra 0.5 inches with the extra 5mm offset?

Can't be much worse than the current wheels...I've had at least 10 cracks and two front tire replacements. Although, if these end up not fitting then I might consider something better.

you have over 10mm less inner clearance. the taller tire diameter is barely within spec and will increase body roll and decrease steering feel. the section width reduction will not be enough to properly put the power down.

it won't look good or perform well if it even clears the front control arm.

No one is calling either you or Extreme Customs idiots...yet. You're in alexasa's domain and pissing in his cheerios though. He's twice advised against your proposed setup and stated why. Better head back to the drawing board...

I appreciate the feedback, as I mentioned I'm anticipating the wheels today so there won't be much to lose in at least trying them out. As long as the car is driveable for daily use then I'm not too concerned.

Not trying to **** in anyone's cheerios but as I mentioned, the wheels are already en route and I expect them later today, and I'm just trying to get as much information as possible because I'm very inexperienced with regards to wheels / tires.

I don't understand that mentality. Sounds you should be driving a completely different car.
