C43 JB1 Track Times
Edit: updated times on post #12
Picked up the JB1 used from a local member (E63AMGJOE). The unit is very simple and easy to install, it only took me a few minutes.
This was on 93 pump gas, JB map 1 - 12.5@111mph
My stock times for comparison

I'm not sure if he's a member here, but found this in my recommended list "C43 AMG QUARTER MILE 12.3 @ 112 / 12.4 @ 112 AMR STAGE 1 / AWE TOURING CAT BACK"

Dinan can always let me borrow a unit to test!
Don't forget, this JB map is tuned around 91 octane. There is a second map for higher octane/race fuel mix. I need to get a usb cord to change it, I might in the future.. It won't surprise me if it matches AMR's numbers. With this base map, there is only 1mph difference between my run and AMR's
Also, my stop watch is showing 4.3 sec 0-60
Best of all, I can always take out the unit/tune in 5 minutes.

Nice runs, thanks for sharing. I had a jb4 on my m235i and really enjoyed it along with the support and continued development.
I was not able to find much information on the N54 site for the c43, was hoping you could elaborate on the install and possibly post some photos? Seemed like the c300/400 install was a pain from the thread I was reading.

Using online calculators to figure out HP gains, from averaging all my E.T.s and trap speeds. Stock, the car is averaging 367hp, which is on target with factory rating. Using the same method for the JB1 I got an average of 413hp. That's a solid 46hp gain for $300
I was never a fan of piggy-back tunes before, but since I haven't been impressed with any of the other tuners, I decided to give this a try. It's a really good value for the money.

Received BMS cable today and went out for more testing. BMS-Jb1 comes with 3 maps and the cable allows to switch between them and log boost. I switched between maps and had my son monitor boost while driving.
Map 0 - stock C43 map, boost peaked to 11psi and tapered down to 9psi.
Map 1- It's the standard default map that BMS unit comes with, it's ideal for 91 octane. In this map boost peaked to 14psi and tapered down to 11.5psi
Map 2- It's for 93 octane and higher. Boost peaked to 15.7psi and tapered down to 13.5psi
My previous 12.5sec runs were in map 1, today I switched to map 2 for the 12.35@112.98
On the way to the track:
After almost an hour ride to the track in map2 without any problems and a couple of miles before getting there, I decided to practice my launch. Also, to make sure I won't get "limp" surprises, well, it surprised me
My son was driving behind me recording.

I'm launching a little over 2k rpm. I would love to drive a fully tuned car... my initial plans were to give the JB1 a quick try first to see how the car responds to it (since it was relatively cheap) and maybe switch to a full tune later on. However, with these results compared to "fully tuned" cars, I'm not sure if I should!

Dude...I am really impressed on how this tune is turning out. Also (not to start a war in your thread), your times are identical to some of the track times published from members with other vendor's full ECU tunes. Some of these Vendors are charging 3-6 times the price for full ECU tunes. At least you tracked your car and provided proof that said tune actually works; which can also be removed from your car at any time non like a full ECU tune.
I recently purchased a used BMS tune from a member on here and I cannot wait to install it on my GLC43 next week. I am hoping it will hold me over until I get a full ECU tune, provided that weistec or armytrix gets back to on seeing if the c43 downpipes fits a GLC43.
I am also curious to see how your car would run with downpipes and stage 2 ECU tune, along with your driving skills.

Holding tight to see what you run if you get a full tune.

I've voiced my opinion about tunes before, here https://mbworld.org/forums/c450-c43-...ml#post7229262
I also made a quick vid of some of my runs. The camera was mounted on my son's car behind me. I made a lot of runs that night, a couple 12.4's-12.5's+ before I was able to figure out the best launch. I also tried manual on one of my runs, trying to shift at 5.5krpm and I hit rev limit in first and second gears....I will leave manual shifting for another day.
