Yomato Ignition Button
Curious if anyone has installed a Yomato Ignition Button or seen one installed. I'm still waiting on my car, but passing the time looking for a few added touches to make the car mine, so to speak.
@ $120 CAD, while it' not what I'd consider cheap, I don't think the price is outlandish...so I'm willing to do it.
Also, I'm thinking about going for the matte finish (example) since I've ordered the Dark Ash Wood interior and think the gloss one would look best next to a CF or Black Lacquer trim. Thoughts?
Examples as installed in a CLA

This is the first I've seen of this button so I can't really speak on it, but I've had my car for a few months now and I have not once looked at or noticed the start/stop button since it was in the dealership. I'd wait a few weeks after getting the car at least before ordering it. It also looks a bit smaller than the OEM button which could be annoying.

I have a brown wood interior trim but I would choose the gloss red one also. I think it would look even better with your color combo, but definitely gloss.

thanks for the feedback guys. I'm still leaning towards doing it, but would like some opinions on how it actually looks/feels. Sometimes waiting cures things, and other times it makes it worse. I don't mind waiting to see if it's really something to do, but knowing me. If it's in my mind as a good idea, it'll take a bit to get it out of there.
And yeah, I know it's not necessarily an item that you always look at, but I think it will give the interior a bit more flair...and be a bit different on its own. Kind of like replacing the door pins with the AMG ones. You don't really look at them, but they make things that much nicer.
I think it's only the button, but not the surrounding aluminium. It looks like it sits pretty nicely and somewhere i read that it's a direct plug-n-play for the OEM button.

I don't know.
I think it is kind of neat.
If your paying close to $70K for a car then $120.00 is worth it if it makes you happy.
Personally, I would get one..
Let us know if you get one and how it works/looks.

Since you've got one, do you mind sharing some pics and details? I'm curious as to what your interior colour is and if you chose to go for glossy or matte. Was it an easy install (plug-n-play)?
And yes, I did order the car from Lonestar. Still waiting on it to come in, and am getting a bit anxious now. Also need to order and install some winter rubber.

Yeah, exactly. Sometimes you just enjoy a bit of something different. I think i'd enjoy the button.

I ordered a polar white coupe with black leather interior with red stitching and red seat belts. I purchased my start/stop button from Revotech Motorsports. Yomato makes a really nice one too. There is a company out there that makes a white/Charcoal/Red CF start/stop button. I have done some modes. Had my windows tinted, changed out the door lock buttons from the plastic to the aluminum AMG, painted by calipers red, replace my mirror covers with CF ones, installed red ascent rings around the air vents. Many more to come in the future.

Hey Mecca, love your taste and appreciation in detail. I too have considered this "mod" by googling this old post (sorry!). I have come across Engine start/stop button covers for $25 shipped to Canada if you are interested in that.
My only concern is whether or not it sits flush with the original button so that the push is as flawless as a real button. The pictures seem as though it won't be a problem though.

About the actual button, I've sort of put it on the back burner (not completely ruling it out), but agree with another poster that you can't really see it (or don't see it often) when you're sitting in the car/driving, so it's not a complete priority to me at this point.

yeah I saw those buttons covers. not sure how they would look, but feel like they would start to loosen up after some time... The price is right though.

As you've stated in the past, it adds a bit of flair to your vehicle.
The covers attach with 3M tape as well. So if you've had experience with that, through other mods or dashcams, you would know how sticky or long-lasting it is. But who knows, it could be crap. I just think it's a good alternative considering the price even though I don't have experience with it. Yet.

I must say...I find it a bit comical that on a [sub]forum where the avg price of the vehicle is ~$67,000, and people constantly spend extra thousands more swapping out mufflers/exhausts, diffusers, splitters, and super fancy forged rims...that so many are aghast at the thought of spending $120 CAD to improve the appeal of one's own cockpit.
Get serious folks. WE all spend our money where we see the value. If I was concerned about the best bang for the buck, I'd buy myself a Toyota Camry and call it a day.

You know what would be cool, is a button that glowed like those you see in supercars.
I had an idea but its probably just wrong. Why doesnt an aftermarket company make one where the button glows when your phone is close to it via bluetooth.
How hard would that be to make? Surely not?

If I laid down all the red starter "carbon fiber" buttons in a row that were randomly priced from $20 to $120, Im not sure many if any could tell the difference.
The OP had a $120 one, while in some photos it looks great (probably good lighting and photo taken) in others it looks identical to the one I paid around $50 for.
It suits my car as I have the red stitching and the red and black leather car mats, red carbon fiber paddles and a red circle surrounding my Merc emblem on the steering wheel.
I however do like the AMG ignition button. Looks good too.
But I already have a AMG dial for the middle console. So it would have been aesthetically overkill.
