Hahaha it's a legitimate AMG donut? I can't believe that's a thing

I wonder if you can get a better tire to allow higher than 50mph. And I'm curious, what's the offset on that? Looks like they had to go pretty extreme for caliper clearance lol!

Also, I keep seeing that 'race car' looking front splitter in your pics. If you don't mind me asking, what's the story on that car?

18Bora, do you by any chance have the Service write up of your last visit regarding the Transmission update. My GLC43 is currently at the stealership right now, and they have completed Service A. I was able to get a couple TSBs worked on, navigation updates and other stuff but no Transmission updates. I even complained about the jumping and slight hesitation in sport + and they said that I have the latest Transmission software for my GLC. I found that kind of strange as my truck is a 17 model and I have seen others who bought their cars long after me and was able to get the update.

I am trying to see what I can do before I have to pick up my truck. I am wondering if the update is only for the C43 but I thought the transmission and engine is the same between the GLC and C.

Thought you might find it helpful to know that you’re not alone with this. My C43 Cab has no available tranny updates according to the MB Xentry diagnostics. Same part number, same hardware number as every other C43 and still nothing.

Annoyed to say the least.

Since the temps were heading into the high-80's/low-90's today, I switched to map1 in the morning. This was early morning when the temps were in the mid 60's

Thanks 18bora! I got super sick on Monday and I have not had a chance to check on this. I have another forum member looking into this and if I find that there really was an update for my GLC I am going to be pissed.

The FSCU update was a "recall" according to the service write up and they have to do it. The TCU update is probably more of a convenience issue, they might not perform it unless the customer complains..... I'm just guessing here.

You can call them with your vin number and ask if the car has any open recalls and/or if the updates have been performed.

In Taiwan we had a suspension recall. My car still has the bunnyhop issue after i requested a software update. Actually I might even say the bunnyhop issue got worse after they did an update.

I assume they did an update since they hooked it up to their computer and flashed to the newest software, but its possible I was already using the newest software already since I am a mid year 2017 so maybe no change was made at all.

Ensure they did both the fuel-system update AND the transmission update. If only the fuel-system update is done then the transmission gets mushy shifts and goes more jerky. Both updates must be done together to get the right shifting behavior.

According to them, they just hook it up to the computer and update whatever is available. They said they dont pick which updates to do or not do. The computer does all of it.

The bunnyhop is most likely caused by the driver's throttle input on uneven/bumpy pavement. In S+ mode, the suspension is very stiff and the throttle is very sensitive. When your car is bouncing over a bumpy section, most likely your foot is also bouncing on/off the throttle. "Bunnyhop" can also occur in a manual car with a race clutch.

To be honest, Im getting really really tired of disconnecting the JB1, driving 30mins to the service center, waiting 3 hours or getting the car back tomorrow (which I need to drive with my brother another 30 mins to retrieve).

I understand that. I also know that this doesnt happen most of the time. 90% of the the time S+ drives in its normal jerky fashion, the way you expect it to. 10% of the time it does the bunny hop with the same foot behaviour.

I've been very busy with work and haven't had time for the track. However, my youngest just took her first driving lesson in the C43 and she loved it, she did surprisingly well for the very first time behind the wheel, maybe I should start hiding the keys

As for the car, it currently has 23,000 miles on it, ~21,500 of which with the JB1/4 without a single problem. Besides the recommended services (10k-20k), I just replaced the rear brake pads, very easy to do, front pads look good for now. I don't have any additional plans for the car as I feel that I surpassed my initial goal of 11.999999998. Big thanks to Terry @ BMS for working with the community and the JB4 upgrade, and the support despite buying my unit used of another member here.

Did you upgrade your turbos? I saw on dragy that you got 11.10@121.92. How are the upgraded turbos treating you?

I'm still on the stock ported turbos and JB4. I did all the work my self, and sorry I'm not going to share details. The 11.1 was a dragy run, and personally I don't consider dragy numbers "official". Since I don't have actual track slips, I'm not going to claim a record. I'm from the school of 1/4 mile records must be done on a track, and the number needs to be backed-up.

I have been very busy with work and It has been almost a year since I've been to the track. Additionally, every time I have some free time, it either raining or I'm busy with the family. Last time I was at the drag strip was Aug of last year, when I took the F-type to Atco. While the F-type (V6 Supercharged-380hp) looks and sounds fast, the C43 feels like a rocket-ship compared to it.

13's feel very very slow compared to 11's

A few pics

The "little" F-type is as heavy as the C43

Lol you haven't read his post properly. The time slip above is for his Jag F Type V6S, NOT a tuned C43.

So, the other day I was heading home from work when I ended up behind an F80 M3. We were stuck behind traffic in a 2 lane road until the road briefly turned into 3 lanes after the traffic light. The (tuned) M3 decided to jump into the 3rd lane @ full throttle to clear traffic, so did I, directly behind him. How did I know he was tuned? He was spitting carbon slugs allover my windshield as I was on his tail the entire time. After we cleared traffic, he lined up next to me and we both hit it. We were door to door until my car started cutting out a little over 130mph. I guess that's the downside of a piggyback.... or is it?
