C43 Burmester Upgrade
What fuse position did you tap off of for switched 12v?
Did you run the switched 12v just to the Fix82 or did you run it to another distribution block so that it can also be used for the sub amp and DSP?
Thanks!!
- 1 InstallGear 1/0 Gauge Complete Amp Kit
- 1 InstallGear distribution block (part of the kit?)
- 1 InstallGear 150 AMP ANL fuse (part of the kit?)
- White wires coming from the Fix 82 (can't tell the brand or gauge)
- 1 ATO ATC fuse tap
- Lisle 35260 Plastic Fastener Remover
- ?

This way if you want to go back to stock you just remove the T-harness and plug everything back in.
Part number is CT10MC03 and looks like it fits the same connector for a Burmester amp as well as Harman Kardon.
I also found the Helix V Eight DSP can output 75 watts per channel so may reduce the need to bi-amp the footwell subs.
AS an update to this, I purchased on ebay for roughly $48 USD. shipping from the UK. Will report if it works or not! Still deciding what I want to do about my stereo components. WIll be running audison Voce 3 way up front, but dont know what I want to do about amps or subwoofer yet. I have equipement already but having second thoughts. I have an audison prima ap 8.9bit if anyone may be interested.

Helix V Eight DSP is around $1000
- 6-channel car amplifier with digital signal processing
- 75 watts RMS x 6
- TüN™ software (Android, iPhone, PC. Bluetooth available)
- AK7738, processing at 24 bit/96 kHz.

Buying the above mentioned JL Audio Dual 8" sub box with built in amp will eliminate the need for mounting a second amp in the factory space- that would be my plan or is my plan.
Looking forward to your results.

The Audison is 35 watts x 8 @ 4ohms
You will need the JL Audio Fix 82 to combat the Mercedes VNC (vehicle noise compensation) technology. Not sure which MB models have it.
(Note. VNC is not automatic volume control)

Also, after looking at the burmester wiring diagram there are more wires on the connector than just speakers.
You can't just unplug it and plug in a spare. You would also have to transfer the other important wires over.
I bought some 16 pin male/female wiring harnesses from ebay. I will wire the 16 speaker wires to each connector. That way if you want to go back to stock just unplug from the Fix 82 and plug back into the burmester amp. (Hopefully it works)
I ordered my Audison Prima AP8.9 yesterday from ebay $700 with shipping. Coming from Austria.
(fingers crossed)

(fingers crossed)also should have contacted me about the ap8.9, i am probably selling mine to run more power. But let me know how the ebay purchase goes, I have heard they sell non genuine audison on there but the price has always been tempting. Let me know

My harness idea was only to provide easy switching back to the factory amp when i eventually sell the car. Only on the 6 sets (16 total) of speaker wires would be on the harness.
Like this:
My AP8.9 was purchased from an authorized Audison dealer on Ebay. He has 25 sold and a 100% positive feedback rating.

if the Audison is not powerful enough, I will try the six channel JL Audio VX600/6i next. I emailed JL Audio and a tech replied very quickly. I like these guys.

(fingers crossed)I am leaning toward ordering the JL amp, JL rocks and that extra power eliminates by amping the two front subs.

You're on the right track with the purpose of the T harness. It's so that you can cut the wires on the T harness instead of on the factory wiring. Even with my Helix amp that has 8 channels at 75w, it will still leave one input not accounted for. My plan is to leave the center channel on the Burmester amp only. So on the T harness I won't cut that wire, and it will simply pass through on the harness.
I'm looking forward to receiving the harness. I ordered it over a week ago, and it looks like it finally cleared USPS customs coming from the UK and should be here tomorrow.
When I started pulling panels in the trunk today I learned the C63 battery is in the trunk, not like the C43. This is good on one hand because it will be easier to run the power wire to the amps/DSP, but will be a little tricker to find space to mount everything.

also thats cool your battery is in the back. Makes things much easier for wiring. I prefer the weight of that in the back, but i enjoy all the space i have in trunk for fix a flat kit and amps now.
goodluck. Can you send a picture of where the battery factory ground is? I may ground all my amps to same point.
