I thought this was common knowledge!

- With foot off the brakes, push the start button twice, until the entire dash lights up and the steering wheel moves down.
- Push mode select up twice, to Sport+
- Place foot on the brakes and start.
- Vroom braaa braa braa pop pop
- Watch people at the convenience store/gas station/mall/parking lot, etc.... look to see WTF was that
- Drive away

BTW, the car stays in S+ with the valve open, I do it every day after I get my coffee in the morning.

If you listen carefully the valves close after about 2 to 5 seconds

Module ordered and will hopefully be here in the next day or two

Coming from a V10, I definitely miss the obnoxiously loud cold starts which I hope this module will somewhat remedy.

did you buy it off of the German website? Or is there an American version I’m unaware of...

I sent an email to info@asr-component.de detailing what options I wanted, my address and PayPal email. He then sent an invoice and a payment request.

Here's another one that looks like it does essentially the same thing, albeit a little more expensive...

I just ordered this module as well. I like the idea of it and I don't think the price is too harsh.

Received today, installation literally took a minute.

Does exactly what it says on the tin, full control of the exhaust valve via remote. Sounds incredible on a cold start now.

Do you notice a big difference when the car is idle? How much louder do you think it is overall just driving?

I wouldn't say I can notice a difference when idle. Seems a bit throatier when driving but haven't fully opened it up yet.

Hmmm... are you saying there’s not much of a difference in sound at low rpm’s? That’s the reason I was considering the purchase.

From my own testing with the car at idle, warm and in sport +, there is no difference in sound between opening the valve via remote or opening the valve via the button in the car.

Heh no problem

I'm not sure what the benefits other than a much better cold start are to be honest.

The benefit would be keeping the valves open 100% of the time. Stock setup they open and close dependent on certain variables, with this, they are open. Should be a much better at low RPMs than at high when the OEM setup already opens them up. I would expect just more consistent throatiness at all RPMs. Mine arrives next week so will update. Going in same time as a tune so might be a combo result.

Exactly plus you get waaaaaaaaay more crackle and pops on overrun because valves are open.

It was worth the money 100%

I feel like I opened up the full potential of the exhaust

I'm hoping this in combination with my tune will be great, can't wait!

Honestly (Though not recommended), if you are going to get work done that will void your warranty (if you have it) just unplug the cables controlling the valves under the exhaust. They will always stay open because no signal will be able to tell them to close. I imagine both options are not healthy per a warranty, but if you choose to unplug the line to the exhaust it can always be plugged back in from what I can tell.

Again Not recommended...

I'm in the same boat you are... not sure if I want to spend $400 just for a louder cold-start. However, if it's true that you get more pops and crackles, it might be worth it.

Do
you hear that???? my exhaust did NOT sound like that until I installed the controller.

To the person who stated you can unplug the wires, this is true but you can not close them or set them to default without the controller.

I still close the valves on the highway or when with wife and children are in the car because the exhaust is LOUD :-)

All I hear is one loud pop on your overruns/downshifts. Are the other pops/crackles just not being picked up on the audio? Regardless, it definitely sounds louder!

Just disconnecting the wires from the valves will open it, yes, but will throw the car into limp mode, meaning whatever noise you will gain by disconnecting the valves will be lost due to lack of power. Hence the ASR module.

that upshift rasp sounds terrible. But, to each their own.
