Hey guys, I have the AMG Performance Seats. My son was in the passenger seat and was playing around with the adjustments. I was trying to tell him what to press to adjust the seat but we weren't connecting. When I parked the car I came around to check his seat to show him what buttons to use to make adjust the bolsters/lumbar. I think noticed that the passenger side had the lumbar support and only had one adjustment lever to control the bolsters ((side bolsters). It was "missing" the leg bolster adjustment that the driver side seat has.
Can someone check their seats and confirm if this is the way it comes from the factory. I'm inclined to believe it's that way by design vs me getting a misconfigured seat, but want to validate.
Hmmm
I have the performance seats on my 1 month old 2018 c43. I dont have ANY bolster adjustment switches on either seat!!! wtf!
Could upload a pix of yours showing the switch you mean?
Uh....what?! Yeah, not sure what's going on with your seats. Below are some pics of my seats with bolster adjustments. The manual also talks about these on page 99.
I'm in Canada and have a 2018 coupe...ordered in August, received in November. Only difference I can spot with our seats is that I have leather vs. Alcantara, but don't think that would affect the bolsters. I wonder, are your bolsters firm (like they have some sort of support inside)? I'll check mine tomorrow...perhaps just the switches are missing. In any case, let us know what the dealer says.
Anyone else have input on this? Able to provide additional examples.
The all leather performance seats are more adjustable than the alcantara version. I had the all leather in my black coupe and now have the alcantara in the magno.
You can see in the top picture the leather version has a soft suede area near the bolster while in the bottom picture it is all mb-tex.
I didn’t realize they didn’t have adjustable bolsters until I got the car and while I still really like the alcantara performance seats I loved the leather ones. The all leather version also has the chrome trim and chrome handles
Thanks Dvision44
You are saying that the leather has the bolster adjustment but not the alcantra - in the coupe. Mine is a 2018 c43 sedan. Elsewhere on forum there is reference to sedans have the bolster adjustment and not the coupe! I would like to know if there are any sedans out there with the performance seats and if they have the adjustments....?
No problem!
It's not a coupe vs sedan issue. The seats in both are basically the same. It's a leather vs mb-tex / alcantara issue. Part of what you get with the $1600 upgrade. I tried to point out the reasoning above. That soft suede / alcantara area in the leather seats is where the bolster adjustability takes place and it's not possible with the firmer mb-tex in the bottom pic. The same can be seen with the bottom bolsters when you looks at the pics you and Mecca presented. There's an elastic type material that allows the seats to adjust on the leather version while yours are just straight mb-tex. It's just the difference in the performance seats unfortunately.
The mb-tex version do not hug you as well and therefore, while they look good, they're not truly performance seats. That's the complaint you should take to your dealer although I don't know what he or she could do for you other than give you a few bucks back if you're lucky....let us know how it turns out..
No worries on the thread hijacking...I'm interested
Been searching through google images to see what info I could glean, and I cam across this site showing AMG Performance seats w/ mb-tex and bolster adjust buttons. The saga continues?!
Also, found this post that shows the AMG performance passenger seat w/ one button...so maybe they are set like this.

I'm pretty sure the bolster adjustment only comes with the all electric memory performanceseats. I don't have this on mine and I have no bolster adjustment. The dealers democar had all electric memory seats and they had the bolster adjustment.

Aren't all AMG Performance seats fully electronic w/ memory...the same as the regular seats that come in the C43. Are you saying that you seats don't have a memory feature?

That's right, standard are electronic adjustable tilt/height, lumbar support and seatback(?). Fully electric seats with memory are extra.

Interesting. This is not a selectable option in Canada...as far as I know. If your C43 has seats, they are electronic and have the memory feature. I'm sure we pay for it, but it's not something that you can remove. I take it, in Europe that's not the case.

I concur. it was never an option not to have in my canada c43.

Ok, after some research it seems that the dinamica seats do not have adjustable bolsters. In Norway if you want memory seats you also have to get the full leather seats.
In this German car you can se how mine looks like, with performance seats in dinamica, without memory. I see that the car in question actually do have memory seats and dinamica.
The memory feature has nothing to do with it as both of my seats have it. As I’ve stated i’ve had both seats in my c43’s and I explained the reasoning for the bolster adjustability...smh

Yes, that's what I found out, you have to have the leather seats.

but your reasoning for the bolster adjustability was that the non leather seats couldn't do it. I provided a link with non-leather AMG performance seats that had the adjustability. Yes, I know they weren't for the C43, but I think that discounts your theory about alcantara vs leather being a limiting technical factor. It may be a "you paid for leather in the C43 so you get bolster adjustability" thing...but I don't think it's because the Alcantara restricts the seat from moving.

You pointed to seats that you can’t get... i’ve shown the 2 versions of the seats available for the c43... that yellow in the seats you posted is NOT mb-tex while the c43 seats that area is! The mb-tex on the seats for the c43 is stiff and therefore restricts the bolster adjustability

I respectfully disagree that the alcantara restricts bolster adjustability, which is why i provided the link to the other seats. Either way, I don't think it's a detail worth arguing about.

I'm not arguing.. I'm trying to tell you the difference in two seats made for our car... I've presented pics and explained why and where the differences are. Check the seats you found again. The are made of leather / alcantara and the seats for the c43 are mb-tex / alcantara... these are the facts! The alcantara is not the problem it's the fake leather also known as mb-tex. Anyway, take it as you will. I don't know how I could be much clearer.
Ah...I see. My misinterpretation of alctantara and mb-tex (I was thinking of them interchangeably) led to me refuting your theory. We'll leave it at that!
