Is resonator delete legal
I'm new here and just got an 2018 c43 2 months ago. I was wondering what the best way to make the exhaust sound better/louder on a AMG performance exhaust and stay legal. I was thinking about doing a resonator delete but not sure about the drones? Any ideas?

Any exhaust modification behind the cats is legal, Removing the cats is illegal, Getting high flo cats is legal. You can remove the resonators and mufflers and still be legal.
Although the resonator in these cars aren't that big, the car will be louder, but my suggestion would be doing a muffler delete. I got my car 2 months ago aswell, and i was debating whether i should remove the res or mufflers but the 2 mufflers are much bigger and will make the car louder than just removing the res

If you have the PE, a muffler delete will throw codes and send the car into semi limp mode. Just FYI for anyone who wants to do it.

You can get downpipes and a resonator delete, but that's the extent of it. But when the PE is on, it is basically like a straight pipe through the baffle, making it pretty much a muffler delete. So it's kind of pointless to do one.

Guess you can say that since it was also a sinking sewer drainage when I looked in. Just lucky that I paid extra for the wheel warranty and would be replace for free, just not any of the other damages that happened and have to wait for my insurance to inspect the damages.

No drone at all on highway/city except if you open the valve. It's louder but not crazy loud, it's just sounds better. On Sport +, more cackles and pops and a bigger ''BANG'' on shifting when you'r full boost. Little louder on cold start.
If you want something a lot louder you should go with full exhaust (dp's, catless or highflow cats, catback).
Honestly i'll never change the PE cause it's just perfect with the resonator delete !

Just did the resonator delete a couple hours ago and regret it. I have it paired with the Performance exhaust. It's too loud for daily use. Shifting at 4k sounds like stock PE at redline. People keep turning around, starring at me, and telling me to slow down when I'm doing the speed limit. (Video doesn't do justice)
