I've tried swinging the rear out aswell, Done so a few times, but when the rear doesn't swing out and the car hooks....oh lord...

It has to be the right tires, temperature and skills. Look closely at this drifting, he's barely drifting, you can easily tell that this is an AWD car that wasn't design to drift at all.
