Where do you have your seat? High and upright? Low and Laid Back? What do you find you like?
I prefer to be above midplane in general as I like
to look down onto my hood and don’t feel much issue sitting higher. I can see the appeal of being low in the cockpit though, feels more enveloping.
All i know is that the weird thing that extends under your thighs on the passenger seat is a great place to "pinch" any paperwork so it doesn't blow away while driving with the windows open.
I actually have the 3 memory seat options for when i feel like changing styles, my #1 is more relaxed, high seated, so i can put my arm on the window and hold the wheel type of seat. #2, has the seat all the way down and more cockpit feel, lean back, still a relaxing type of setting. #3 is for my canyoning/driving fast.
I folllow Chris Harris's guidelines haha. Lowest position possible so that your sensitive butt can feel everything. And seat upright just enough so that the palm of your hand can reach the top of the steering wheel.

Not that I have needed to, but I always thought that spot would be a great hiding spot. Extend the piece out all the way, then you can put *insert secret/sketchy item here* underneath the leather so you can't see it, then retract it back into position. Cops/robbers most likely wouldn't even think to extend that piece and if they did, it is hidden under the leather. So As long as a dog can't smell it, you'll be golden.

Yep, I have the same thing going on. #1 is low and leaned back for relaxed daily driving duties. Then #2 is upright and close to the wheel for when I'm doing some "spirited" driving. Then #3 is all the way back for naps or times when you're parked looking at the stars with the sunroof open
The first two i use for driving positions. Since mercedes only raises the steering wheel for egress and ingress, i set up the third to slide the seat back just enough to put the side bolsters past the b-pillar, and tuck the thigh support. Helps avoid snagging the bolsters, because before you know it, the upholstery on that part is all messed up from my jeans. Did the same thing to the passenger side too.
My ‘05 w211 did it automatically, I don’t know why that feature didn’t trickle down to the c class after all these years. At first I thought it was probably because the c class was shorter. But, now the wheelbase is almost identical to the old e class, but mb has yet to put it on the c...

This is what they teach at AMG Driving Academy and what I've always done
