Help Needed: 2017 C43 amg Exhaust Tips
Hey Everyone,

Exhaust tips on my 2017 c43 AMG coupe are left with residue. (Image below).

Can I get the residue off? If so, How?
OR
Where can I replace the exhaust tips for a reasonable price? (Without having to go through the MB Dealer..)


I've been checking Ebay but can't seem to find anything worth a damn. Anyone know a part number for this as well?
Thank you in advance for any advice, I'm new to the MB World.

Yes they do- thanks for pointing that out. I did notice that recently, which is why I'd like to replace it to go back to the classic look. Or do a upgrade. Any suggestions are welcomed.

Strange, any idea how it ended up with the ones it has?

You've got a few options...

You could buy these which you just stick over the current tailpipe, these replica replacements, or get OEM replacements from here.

I'm pretty sure you have a C300 Coupe with AMG package and something like could/should be covered under warranty. Check with your dealership first

C300 with amg package
Thank you so much for all of the advice, apparently my car is a 300 with a amg package. My dealer told me it was a c43 at first then after running the VIN and looking at my file- it is definitely a c300.

Which now poses the issue of finding tips for that- any links?

You can always try p21s polishing soap to try and clean the tips


I use it regularly and it makes my tips look brand new

I believe that the C43 tips fit on the C300. If that's the case, I can sell you mine if you're interested (they're black).

I would be more worried about why are you paying for a c43 price tag when you have a c300. I hope you did not get taken advantage of.

diffuser is body color matched which only comes on the 300 too, so guessing his sig/profile is just wrong

how much elbow grease goes into cleaning it? Are you using a microfiber too with it?

I use it on my chain guard and chrome bits on my motorcycle andnever had any issues. With kerosene should come off one swipe or with minimal effort
btw any rag should work.

After looking at pic I don't think p21s would be able to fix that.

No you just use the sponge that is included with the kit.

Chrome polish, a small rag, and some elbow grease...and wearing gloves as to not get the polish on my hands...

...worked for me every time when cleaning the black crud off my exhaust tips.
