2019 C43 AMG order - status, options, pics etc
Does anyone know at what point the VIN becomes registered? I also tried it to register on the AMG Private Lounge (couldn't think of anywhere else to check it's validity) and it also bounced back as unregistered. Any info would be appreciated as my SA is off for a few weeks vacation.
Thanks

Maybe we should make our displeasure known to the good folks at MBUSA.
**edit**
Although, I do not see any 2019 C43 sedans for sale on the dealer web site.
Maybe they are actually doing FI/FO.

Good customer service would suggest that deposits or full sales get priority. From a business perspective, shipping the “sold” vehicles first makes no sense. Ship the unsold vehicles so dealers can sell them sooner. It’s not like (m)any of us are going to cancel our orders this close to getting the car.

Depends on which part of the business you are referring- Sold vehicles has guarantee sale when they hit the lot. Even the full sale vehicles are unearned revenue. I am not sure if the cars on the lot are on consignment or if they are owned by the dealer, but on the dealer side, it just doesn’t make sense to bring in the unsold inventory before anything else. *especially this close to the end of the year.
I’d think a dealer would rather have 30 days to sell a vehicle than any time less than that. You can get the preordered vehicles five days before the end of the month and move them in time, since they’re pre-sold.
So, if I get all my unsold vehicles on the first shipment of the month, it gives me more time to sell them before the close of the month. As long as I get the pre-sold vehicles on a subsequent shipment that will still arrive by the end of the month, those vehicles won’t take me anytime to move.
That said, as a customer, I want my F&$!’in car first, lol.

Most are purchased by dealer. Some are on consignment. Really depends on the dealership’s preferences.

LOL. I hear you. It does make sense business wise, if they were actually receiving the non-sold ones, but it just seems like a random trickle.
To quote my dealer, “Should be soon... Hopefully.” At least we wait together. I will say that if I see one of the random non-sold C43s driving around before delivery, I may pull over and cry for a moment.
I turned in all my paperwork just now, and I'm set to drive down to Maryland on the 17th to pick up my car. I wish I weren't so tied up with work next week. Otherwise, I'd be there on Monday... Anyway, I'm so happy to have ordered from Steve and Shahul rather than from the dealers in NJ and NY. They're true car guys and absolute pros!

Your dilemma of being unable to come down until the 17th helps me cope though. I’m excited that you have gotten what many of us are waiting for! Your ride home is going to be awesome on that day.
