Where and How Did You Secure Your JB1 or VRtuned Box?
Just recently purchased a used vivid box for a great deal so looking to install it this week.
I have the instructions which look straight forward but I am little confused about how and where you guys installed the box?
I was thinking of just using zip ties to strap it down somewhere in the engine compartment but I am open to any ideas from people that have already installed there box.
Also any tips or tricks and possible pitfalls I should look out for during the install process?
Can all the sensors be located from on top of the engine?
You can keep it near the brake booster assembly on the right side of the hood where the plastic panel can be unlocked and lifted up. Just behind the barrel thingy there. Let me know if this is confusing. I will take some pictures then.
And very interesting choice to go with VR. It looks good though. Give us a review after you are done installing.
I had it in the compartment located to left of the motor. You can open the lid there and using high strength velco attache it to the plastic wall. I added two tie wraps as extra security. Keep in mind to leave some room so you can put on and remove the bypass loop when you go in for service. See below:
Munis, mind posting a pic or two of where exactly you placed your JB4 and the OBD2 plug through the firewall? Does the wiring fit under the engine cover or did you leave that off?
I just ordered the JB4, wireless connection kit, and data cord. The BMS website has pics of JB1 install photos, but nothing on the OBD2 port.
