Please help, i was in the process of changing the oil for my 2018 c43 amg and i opened the wrong plug. The plug is to the right side of the oil pan. Does anyone know what fluid that is. Thanks in advance.

The front differential maybe?

Refill procedure is to remove an axle and fill through the open hole.

pictures would help, but not sure why are you doing this yourself if you don't even know what is what under the hood ?! trying to save $30 can cost you thousands of dollars later

This bolt is on the right side of the oil pan and the oil drain bolt is on the left side of the oil pan. Is this differential or transmission drain bolt. Thanks in advance.

Yeah that's the front diff. Make sure you refill it before driving the car.

Are you taking the car to the track or driving high mileage? If not, why are you changing oil twice a year?

I usually keep my car for over 10 yrs so for $60 diy oil change is cheap to keep the engine smooth and strong.

I use an oil extraction pump. SInce the filter is accessible from the top a DIY oil change only takes about 10 minutes total time including setup and cleanup.

Have you considered sending out a sample of your oil for lab testing? Would be interesting to see what they say and it isn’t expensive. Blackstone Labs charges $30 I believe.

Amazon special:
Amazon Amazon

It leaves about a half quart of oil behind after accounting for oil trapped in the filter. I use it to run additional oil changes within the recommended interval. I still perform the dealer oil changes with service A and B while my cars are under warranty. So this saves me no money. It's just a piece of mind issue and I enjoy doing it.
I usually only run the extra oil changes for break-in (I like to change at 5k instead of 10k recommended), or after extended periods of hard driving or driving under adverse conditions (think extended runs through Mojave at 100+ or long stretches of idling during the wintertime.

I replace the oil with Mobile 1. I've been using Mobile 1 synth for while and I trust its performance.
