Have tried to do my research, the C43 pic thread bores me as I can just google an OEM C43, no offense to anyone in that thread. Post pics of your lowered C43 with aftermarket wheels please

Just as a heads up, 20s are going to add some unsprung weight (slower acceleration) and the ride quality is going to suffer, too.

I can confirm this, my 19" vorsteiners combined with my lowering springs has made traction a big issue as the camber increases to a disgusting amount. No to mention the 19" rims are heavy too. I still do not understand how I managed to get a 1.6 60ft at the track.

Thanks for the advice guys! I will be doing custom forged wheels so they should be rather light :p. 20's look the best, and while i do care about times, ill just keep the amg stocks for when i want to save a few tenths.

This is why I suggest the camber kits when doing a drop if you still want stock performance and to save money on tires... the stock bushings just don't have enough adjustability.. It's a pretty expensive upgrade but I was really happy with the feel and looks after they were installed.

That said, merely having a passenger in the car can affect performance. 19s look incredible on the C43; show off the brake hardware depending on design.

there are plenty of examples of 20" and dropped c43s... I agree for the looks its the way to go. I did it...and wouldn't have it any other way!

If I were to spec 20's I'd upsize tire diameter by about 1.5% to help compensate for the increased size to make it a bit more comfortable.
so a 235/35/20 front and 285/25/20 rear would be perfect for what you are looking for.
235 is square on an 8 inch wheel and just a little stretched on an 8,5
285 is square on 10 and a little stretched on 10.5.
different brand tires fit different even in the same size. Offsets are pretty well documented in other threads on the forums and rears can be compared/referenced with the c63 gentlemen with sedans as the fenders are only flared in the front on the c63 (as most are not running a wide tire on the c43).

Also, for the coupes, I recommend going +45 offset in the back vs +50 (w/ a 20 x 10 wheel). I ended up putting 5mm spacers on the back to help poke the tires out a bit more...may even be able to get away with 7mm or 10mm.
to be frank, I found moving to 20s more comfortable than the 19s. I found the 20" rubber at the wider wheel length made for more dampening of road bumps...and I'm sure the heavier wheels helped as well. Note also that my stock 19s have non run-flat winter rubber (Pirelli Sottozero in the stock size) so that's my comparison for the 20" wheels.
