As someone who is in the industry, I would not recommend Weathertech.

Far better off going with the Maxpider liners. Plus they match any carbon you have in the vehicle.

I've used weather tech liners in two of my past MB cars for winter. My only gripe is that the black ones never fully wash clean, no matter how hard I scrub. There is always a grayish white stain left from snow and salt residue after it dries.

Amazon Prime has the 3D MAXpider L1MB10201509 for W205, I will order a set to take a look at the quality. Very nice first impression, although the rear doesn't have center bump protection. It's also $50 cheaper.

I have the 3D Max's now and they are nice, they stick to the floor really well, very easy to clean and match the car's color dead on.

Though I switch to the Weather Tech for winter, feels safer with the snow+salt mix.

Are those just holes or some type of clip on the 3d mats? Weathertech gives you real plastic clips for the floor posts.

Just holes, don't think mine came with the clips, I'm pretty sure I just pupped them off the original mats.

Um, not sure the oem clips are made to be popped on and off. I will check.

Edit: I stand corrected.

So what was the Verdict on which all weather matts to choose? I have owned Weathertech and not impressed. I bought some for a new Grand Cherokee and the grommet holes leaked water into the carpet. Are the 3D Mats good at preventing dirt and salt from leaking into the carpets? Also the other issue I had with the Weathertech was that they never looked good after the first snow storm, like was said earlier, they always had that white tint left on them? Wondering if the cleaner and protectant really works or not?

Leary of 3D because they seem to be made of some type of fabric?

I had the same gripe. Then I treated them with 303 Aerospace protectant which I use on my cars trim, interior, etc. Came out good as new. I recommend 303 as one of the most essential detailing products I have.

I think I will try the 3D MAXpider Kagu this year, but adding the 303 sounds good. (Snow storm just started )

Only problem I see with the 3DM’s is if any standing water gets on the mats and finds its way to the circle holes that hold them in place, the water is going to leak through to the carpet. Or am I missing something...?

My feet never go that far back, so getting snow or water in there won't be an issue for me. However, I can always glue on some plastic covers, if needed. They also look raised, so a little water won't get in.

My biggest issue with ALL of these winter mats is they don't provide any gas pedal coverage, so when I put a wet shoe on the pedal, all that moisture drips down into the carpet.

My winter solution is to put a small black towel over the gas pedal and under the winter mat (wash it every 2 weeks)

Just curious, is not stupid that car manufacturers in general dont make car mats out of leather/vinyl and not carpet. Carpet to me seems one of the worst materials you could use in a car in terms of wear and tear and maintenance?

Much like how I would rather have leather/fake leather seats over velour.

That happened to me with a pair of Weather tech matts- it was a first run for the New Jeep Grand Cherokee, I think they may have fixed it

Does anyone else's Weather Tech rubber mats only reach half-way of your left footrest? Basically half my food is directly touching the carpet... The rest of the fitment is good though.

I think this is typical of WT mats. Mats for my FRS, Tacoma, and the wife's LandRover haven't had full dead pedal coverage.

I ended up buying a set of the 3D MAXpider Kagu mats and I've used them for a couple of months with heavy snow.

Some notes:
  • The black carbon fiber ribbing looks very nice against my black interior.
  • They don't seem to do a better job than the Weathertechs at keeping water from soaking my carpet. (Although, this is a different car.)
  • They get the same white salt stain residue as the Weathertechs and it's equally as hard to clean it off. (I've tried many cleaners, but a water + vinegar mix works the best)
  • I might end up buying another set of Weathertechs for my W205.

I just got the Weathertech FloorLiners a week ago. So far, they work great.

I also looked into the Husky Liners but decided to go with Weathertech.
