Does your right side mirror adjust itself when you put the car in reverse?

I took my c43 to the dealership recently to get the winter tires installed and a rattle addressed, and when I got it back, it started adjusting the side mirror every time I put it in reverse. I'm assuming this is a feature to help you line up the curb and the wheel when you're parallel parking. The car never did this before though, so did I get some software update that they didn't mention to me, or maybe someone there changed a setting I never noticed? The record of work done doesn't mention anything about a software update. I'm just curious if anyone else had this changed with an update at some point and if there's any other changes that might've been made that I should look out for.

Passenger Mirror Reverse Curb View Adjustment

You can set this with your mirror adjustments. Mine works most of the time - but every now and then forgets about it and I have to reset it. I haven't noticed any change after having the car serviced.

My 18 has always done this since I bought it. I think there is a way to turn it off, but mine always goes back to the set position in the memory.

You can turn it off in settings, I personally don't like it

When in reverse press the left mirror button do it light up red. The right one will go back to the driving setting.

It's been a feature for years. Just make sure the passenger's side mirror button is selected last. You can adjust it while in reverse and it'll keep that memory every time you put the gear in reverse. If you adjust the driver's side mirror and forget to put it back to the passenger's side mirror button after, then it won't work. You probably left the button selected on the driver's side for it not to be working and the tech just pressed the passenger's side button. There really is no way to deactivate it other than by pressing the driver's side button or adjusting the passenger side mirror in a way that it won't tilt down while in reverse,

On my R230 the reverse mirror setting is indeed de-activated by selecting the driver side mirror. But ‘below’ that, you opt in or out in the settings menu.
btw, the reverse mirror position needs to be confirmed with the seat-mirror-etc memory storage button, it is not a fixed factory adjustment.

My w211 was like that too, you can opt out in settings. But, the c43 (and my previous c207) doesn’t have that in settings anymore. If you go into the settings menu, you won’t find anything for the mirrors except if you want it to fold in, or not. Passenger side mirror position is stored automatically when you adjust it while in reverse, or manually by pressing the Memory button after adjusting the passenger’s side mirror.

In the BMW, this feature is activated by the positioning of the mirror setting switch on the driver's door. If the switch is set to the middle, it does not go down when in reverse. If it set to the right, it does.

You guys are right, it does adjust the mirror only when the button for that mirror is selected. I guess I've never reversed with the right side mirror selected before, and someone at the dealership must've pressed the button. I can't find any settings in the vehicle settings menu specifically about this option, but keeping the left side mirror button selected is an easy enough way to stop it.

Or you adjust your pass. side mirror to ‘neutral’ with your gear in reverse...
