Dashcam - Blackvue DR900s 2CH

Thought I would start a thread on my Dashcam purchase which I have had for a few months now.
Dashcam is great and I am so happy to get it. I have to recommend it to C class owners as they install and setup that the shop did was just perfect.
The Dashcam is sleek and elegant and to be honest I dont even notice it at all. The Blackvue is a small discrete cylinder which blends well with the C class interior. By blending in I mean its there but you dont notice its presence. Its present on the front passenger side next to the windscreen radar. Passengers in my car have never really noticed it to ask about it, thats how much it blends in. Mind you this is a hardwired install so hence it has a very small concise discrete presence.
My neighbor has literally a camera as his dashcam and it is obvious noticeable and looks out of place.

Over heat?
I’ve been looking into dashcams and this one is on my list. My concern what I’ve read is these seem to be overheating when set to record in the 4K mode. Have you been using it in 4K and have any issues with it shutting down due to overheating? What region are you in (current weather conditions)?

I record in 4k mode but have it transferred to my phone at 1080p as my phone is not 4K. (note 8)
I am in Australia where our summers can be brutal and very very hot. I purchased mine when we had winter, so I cant help you yet.
However, my car is well protected in terms of sunlight. Its almost always garaged wherever I go so it has not overheating issues to deal with. Naturally the cabin temperature is cooler due to the AC.
The other day it was 30degrees Celsius and I had no issues with the recording. Again I have to stress I hardly ever park my car for long outside in the searing heat.

Would love to hear others that have dashcams and what they like or dislike about them or the issues they have had with them. Mine has so far worked flawlessly. Best part is that it records without me realising at all that it is working in the background.
Highly recommend Blackvue.

I have the DR-650 front and rear camera. My unit will randomly not turn on in the morning. Happens once every week or so where it takes 15-20 minutes to start up. Almost like the Blackvue is stuck in parking mode.

I have the DR900 2CH and it works fine for me, I also use a Note 8 to view the video. The video is so clear and perfect. I am surprised you didnt pay the extra to get the higher model because the vision is unbelievable better. I shoot in 4K. Basically it was the first "mod" if you can call it that that I did.
I have to add we dont have harsh weather like snow where I live and also I garage my car, so there is no sun issue.

I had a Blackvue for awhile but it did eventually overheat and go tango uniform. Since then I have went with the cheaper wedge form factor and my current one from Street Guardian has been going strong for about four or five years now. I've used the Mini series in some of my other cars and have had good luck.
